Can’t go north, south or west because of road closures and east takes me straight into the North Sea! Ho hum, have all supplies we need, just hoping power doesn’t go although we do have camping stove and light and small 750w generator. Weather is horrendous.

Where do you live Katek? I live in the Frozen North but I'm now 2/3 of the way to London on the train. Its only running a bit late due to speed restrictions and extra stops due to one train cancelled.

We’re north of Aberdeen smithy. Hope you make it safely to London

There are no buses running here, and the schools are all shut, but to be honest, I don't think the snow looks that bad..

What have you been doing while snowed in? We aren’t actually snowed in but decided not to risk going anywhere. DH and I emptied 2 kitchen cupboards and threw away loads of out of date jars and sauces too hot to eat. Where did they come from? Also a dozen boxes of herbal teas, all different flavours with half a dozen tea bags left in each of them. The cupboard looks so clean and tidy. How long will it last?

I have to confess I’ve not done much!! Made another crochet octopus for prem baby unit, caught up on some paperwork and made big pot of soup. Snow still falling.

Here in Essex it's been quite bad, had about 10cm snow and it's still coming down. Took the dogs out about an hour ago and although the sun was shining it was bitterly, bitterly cold. That has gone now and it is snowing quite heavily again. I spent the morning sorting through clothes and now have quite a bag for the charity shop. DD1 has just texted me she wasn't able to get to work and has been doing the same. She says we now need to go shopping!!!!

We are snowed in as well. When I went out to the garage, the snow was up to my knees.
DIL was at work and couldn't get home and DD was driving down from Forres to Glasgow, took nearly six hours. I was worried sick.

All safe now. smile

We are pretty much snowed in now too. Like etheltbags I’m on the NE coast ( very close to the sea) and it’s bleak . I’m cross at the lack of information provided on our LA website about school closures etc. I’m also very worried about my heavily pregnant DD who doesn’t finish work until 9pm tonight . ?

We're kind of snowed in. The main roads are OK but the farm road is a bit dodgy because you cant see where the road ends and the ditches begin so we're staying put!!

Enjoying some daytime TV and have a big pot of Jambalaya on the stove because I was very impressed by James Martin's American Adventure cooking prog. Haven't seen it before but was inspired.

Nice to have an excuse to do nowt but feel sorry for DGS3 because his driving test had to be cancelled and he was all psyched up for it.

SueDonim Wed 28-Feb-18 16:41:21

I'm in the NE too but could get out if I wanted to. I've chosen to stay in, though! grin

whitewave Wed 28-Feb-18 16:43:20

Lots of snow forecast tomorrow, but with luck we will miss it. I hope so as dog has appointment with his hairdresser.

Oopsadaisy12 Wed 28-Feb-18 16:50:27

I hope so too Whitewave, cos I also have an appointment with my hairdresser, and I probably need it more than your dog!

whitewave Wed 28-Feb-18 17:01:32

My dog looks like the abominable snowman! Blimey oops I should wear a hat if I were you grin

We overlook the Thames Estuary in Essex, not exactly snowed in but a fair amount on the ground. Haven't been out today, watched tv, read , done some work on the computer and a fair bit of my knitting.
The sky looks pretty full again, I wonder if we will have more snow tonight.

We’re snowed out! Should have flown home today, but the local airport is shut. No landings. I think they only have one man with a shovel as it happens so often.

GillT57 Wed 28-Feb-18 17:10:54

Lots of snow here, and a lovely pot of soup made

Telly Wed 28-Feb-18 17:52:34

We're not actually snowed in and the main road is clear. Walked the dog this afternoon and it stormed over the fields! Decided to come back and dog ran off at 100 mph. Only to run back just as fast to sit in the snow and wait for me! It was really funny, she did it time and time again. I think she just wanted to get back in the warm really.

hildajenniJ Wed 28-Feb-18 18:08:47

We are snowed in. Even the A69 seems to be closed. We couldn't get to Carlisle or Hexham earlier. My son works at a pub on the Military road and he's totally cut off. Some guests booked in for tonight arrived on skis.

Luckygirl Wed 28-Feb-18 18:12:26

Minus 5 here on Welsh border - several wild flurries of snow and lots forecast overnight and tomorrow. It is very pretty!

Oopsadaisy12 Wed 28-Feb-18 18:50:04

Whitewave, hat, gloves, scarf, sunglasses cos of the wind, fleece, waxed jacket, I looked like the Michelin Man! So wrapped up I had a job to get my snow boots on! DH is hoping to go to Essex early tomorrow morning, wonder if he will get there? Snow hasn’t really happened here, just off and on, but it’s very windy out there and snow is forecast tomorrow, but not the Beast From The East, our is Storm Emma coming up from France, well we shall see, ooo la la..

Our main road is clear but the roads in the estate /village are lethal. There are no buses so I suppose we are technically snowed in. I was meant to meet a friend tomorrow but she’s cancelled and I don’t blame her. I think in these conditions unless you absolutely need to go out you should stay in. I did go out for a walk around the orchard this morning and it was lovely, crisp and sharp cold. Funnily enough my asthma was ok normally it reacts to bad weather. Apart from making soup, a curry and clearing the snow we’ve done nothing except watch a few dvd’s. I’ve enjoyed it. I hope all of you from Scotland are prepared and able to hunker down because I’ve heared your in for a very bad time. Where ever you are keep safe and warm.

lemongrove Wed 28-Feb-18 20:19:59

Nothing much here today, some flurries, but maybe more will come down on Thursday.
Marydoll the snow was up to your knees you say? That’s because, when you take off your stilettos you are only 3 foot six! ?
