Coming a close second to the daft idea of Britishness - is the idea to turf all non- British people out of all social housing.

This time we have Badenoch to thank for the latest stupidity.

So regardless as to how long they have been living in the U.K., working, contributing to society and paying their taxes, they are now to be forcibly removed from their home.

How is this going to be achieved?

ICE style raids?

How will the councils manage the sudden influx of homelessness?

God save us from crass stupidity.

That also sounds remarkably like something Farage and/or Lowe would say!

Just unimaginably cruel, heartless and, I would imagine, completely unlawful/illegal!

Whatever next, sometimes I despair and I was just “warming” to her as a half decent opposition! Not my political “flavour” of course, but strong, challenging opposition is so important.

I'm beginning to think she's lost her marbles.

Are non residents eligible for social housing anyway ? Sounds a bit strange when there is a waiting list of residents.

I think she is desperate to show that the Tories are taking as tough a line with ‘immigrants’ as Reform and Restore claim they would. She tends to shoot her mouth off without thinking of the consequences, which are now biting her, and she should have checked out what she was going to say in advance with her shadow cabinet, which contains some less impetuous individuals.

I wonder who is the advisor behind this idea.Like you. Cossy , I was starting to come round to the leader of the opposition, but this will do her no good at all and will go down as a really bad lapse of good judgement. A big ,big mistake for her future.
The plan is out of the" Icebox" of Trumpton government. It should stay there.
