ga Whenever one of our trees catches on power lines, which has happened a few times, we ring the electricity board and they send out Wonderful Men with their chain saws. The trees are pollarded, logs stacked and a large supply of bark chippings heaped up ready to spend six months weathering before mulching the borders.
Doesn't cost us a penny.
You could be forgiven for thinking this is in the Alps, it is actually the north of England.

Heavens, ga. I'm glad I only have to worry about a weekly fishing trip!
He got home safe and well, but right now I'm following him on something called Viewranger:BuddyBeacon. It means I can track his movements when he's out on his own; right now he's skiing a couple of miles away, but I can see that he's heading towards home. We use the same tracking device (an App on his phone) when he's cycling solo or windsurfing. It updates itself every few minutes, so as long as there is movement when there's supposed to be I know all is well. He is always well equipped for the conditions, even though at times he has literally sawn his toothbrush in half to reduce weight! When we were first together I used to worry hugely when he was off on an adventure, but I have learned to cope better as the years have gone by and he's always come home safely.
Our youngest son is a chip off the old block and goes solo snorkelling in all sorts of weather. We have an arrangement where (if he remembers) he phones me to tell me where he's going and then he gives me a time by which he'll phone to say he's safely ashore. Twice he's taken it to the wire and I've been about to call the coastguard!
My eldest son used to go wild camping on Dartmoor, but fortunately he hates being on his own and always went with at least one other - just as adventurous as his dad and brother, but slightly less of a worry for me. 
We have had a fair bit of snow in our part of Essex. In Suffolk a friend’s daughter is completely snowed in and a farmer has had to use a JCB to get to them with supplies! The pics are of boats frozen into the sea water when the tide was in at Heybridge Basin earlier this afternoon. With the wind chill it was absolutely freezing there when we were walking the dog !
