My ancient Samsung tablet has been slowly dying and exasperating me, so I decided to take advantage of the Black Season (not just a day any more) to buy a new one at a good discount. Can't justify paying a lot for an ipad, but a new Samsung will be great!
What bargains have you bought and do you often buy reduced goods at this time of year?

We've just bought an Amazon Alexa thing. We had been thinking about it for a while and then they were reduced by £20 so we did it. Though, actually, we liked one that was only reduced by £10 so I think we were suckered!!

My hot brush fell apart this morning so I also bought (in a panic) a new one on line but paid full price for it.

Not working too well for us! grin

A brand new Jacques Vert coat for £54, but that was on ebay, but I cannot cope with clutter and the inundation of Black Friday emails, is clutter so gets got rid of immediately. There may be good offers there, but too many and too much and I can only cope by deleting the lot unread.

We bought an Amazon Echo for our DS. We already had one for DD and her family. We will be able to call each other at no charge with Alexa. I also bought a very smart black jacket to take with me when we go on our cruise next summer.

25% off an american football team t shirt my son wants, I thought the English footie team kits are expensive but some of the prices for NFL stuff are eye watering! lol

I neede to buy a football shirt for a secret Santa gift got 25% off and free pp. I don't normally shop on Black Friday but just took a curious look and save a bit . I wish the post office would do a deal on stamps for Christmas cards though ?

My ancient Samsung tablet has been slowly dying and exasperating me,
Mine has been comatose since I bought it
DH keeps saying 'I told you to take it back' and I should have listened to him.

We are renovating our kitchen and have been looking at prices for Neff appliances over the last couple of weeks. Cheapest so far was Currys, but they put their prices up yesterday!

Nannyme Fri 24-Nov-17 10:14:01

We need a new electric toothbrush, three or four days ago it was about £54 now the same one is over £80. So needless to say we will continue with the old one - so much for bargains!

I bought a vacuum cleaner for £30. It is for use upstairs.

I have an Amazon Echo and thought about buying a Dot for upstairs because there was £15 off but I can manage fine without.

I also bought a single sheet valance for under £10- I am picking it up shortly.

I do not really need anything (except a double bed and memory foam mattress) although I have been looking daily at some of the bargains but some of the kitchen equipment is so large it would not fit in mine.

Went to get hubby a pair of boots from Burton menswear they had 50% off so came out with boots t-shirt and jumper for less than the price I was going to pay for boots

Biggirlsdontcry Fri 24-Nov-17 10:21:50

What is a Dot?

susieken Fri 24-Nov-17 10:51:31

I can really recommend buying a refurbished iPad and iPhone! Comes boxed with everything you need and a great price. My iPad Air is three years old now and as good as the day I got it. iPhone 6s is one year old and fabulous. I bought through Groupon.

shysal Fri 24-Nov-17 10:53:59

Biggirlsdontcry, I think this refers to an Echo Dot, one of those Alexa/voice recognition devices. I don't like the idea that they are permanently recording all your conversations for 'others' to access. Call me old-fashioned.

newnanny Fri 24-Nov-17 10:55:58

A new Kindle Paperwhite for £79.

Jane43 Fri 24-Nov-17 10:57:31

Susieken where did you get your refurbished iPhone from please?

sarahellenwhitney Fri 24-Nov-17 11:20:52

I bought my Kindle for half price on last years Black Friday.grin
Looking at this years kindle deals I find my model has now increased in price.Glad I purchased it in 2016.
Don't think that I will bother with anything else this year.

Jalima1108 Fri 24-Nov-17 11:28:10

I have an Ad blocker on so how come I have a pop up offering Black Friday deals from Boden, Joules and more - all in a fetching GN pink?

Legs55 Fri 24-Nov-17 11:32:16

I hate all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday hype, no longer 1 day but stretching to 4 or even 7 days.

I delete e-mails for above as soon as I see them in my in-box.

If I need something I will always look for bargains, I see above as a cynical marketing ploy.

Good luck to those of you who have found a real bargain.

Biggirlsdontcry Fri 24-Nov-17 11:33:56

I agree Shysal.

vampirequeen Fri 24-Nov-17 11:36:00

We've been watching a camping oven in Go Outdoors for ages. Well actually I've been lusting after it grin but it never dropped in price until this week. We already had the Go Outdoors discount and then got an extra 23% off with the Black Friday deal. It took it to under £100 so we splurged.

Beau Fri 24-Nov-17 11:43:09

Nannyme, look on Boots.com - I bought one yesterday for Christmas for DD and SIL for £89.99 (super duper one - usually £280) thinking it wouldn't be any less today but it's another £5 off. They have loads of other electric toothbrushes on offer, not just this ridiculously expensive one!

keffie Fri 24-Nov-17 11:55:25

I am saving a fortune today by not buying anything: totally agree with legs55

Welshwife Fri 24-Nov-17 11:56:26

Kitty. What is a hot brush? I assume some sort of hairbrush?
