Black Friday purchases?

I am with Monica and Legs 55 - they ruddy things get deleted as soon as they pop in. I must have topped 50 emails in the last two days alone.

My IPad now has a speaker which is not working. A bit intermittent but a real nuisance - am using tiny earplug things at the moment. A few weeks ago I took it in to an Apple shop when I was in UK and they ran tests and all actually looks good. It is about 5+ years old - they tell me I will get £70 trade in if I buy a new one which brings the price down to about £270. I was expecting it to be a much higher price. I think I shall get a new one instead of any other Christmas present. I would absolutely love an Apple laptop but at about £1500 a bit too pricey!

Are these Echo and Dot and Alex things worth it? Quite a few people seem to be keen but I can't see the attraction - except it would be something to buy the DS and family!

I loathe Black Friday and will be buying nothing. Every second email I get has that in the subject line and they are ALL being deleted.

I needed boots as my old ones are almost dead and I double up on cosmetics when they're on offer and put half away for future use.
Best saving was on an electric ride on car for DGS, said I'd take my business elsewhere, so manager offered me 30% off that, saving £75!!!!

Kitty a hot brush is a rotating brush which also blows out hot air. It means that your hair is being dried with a revolving brush much the way the Hairdresser does it. It gives you added volume and smooth looking hair. I half dry my hair with ordinary drier then use the revolving hot brush then use straighteners to tidy up. It is really good hair looks like I’ve been to Hairdresser. Using it is a bit of a knack but you start to get used to it then you get good at it.

Fed up of black Friday already, but saying that I have just got a good deal on a new coffee machine from Currys. Going to hibernate now for the rest of today.

I was looking to buy my dgd a baby Anabelle for Xmas that she's been wanting for ages. Checked online yesterday during the day all all the shops were quoting the same price of £39.99. By last night Argos had it reduced by £10 so reserved it and picked it up earlier. Job done. Also some Hotters fur lined boots at 25% off. But was planning on buying them anyway. My DS's families have Alexa and also can't see the point? But maybe I'm missing something. Also can't bear the onslaught of Black Friday emails.

Two theatre tickets for the price of one ! Lovely evening to look forward to in February.

While doing our usual shop in Tesco this morning, I bought an Xbox game DGS wanted for Christmas. It was £13 cheaper than Amazon, so was pleased.
Don't think I'll be buying anything else, today.

I despise the American term Black Friday and the Associated crazy marketing. I’ve just deleted over 55 emails all headed up with the dreaded term. I notice many companies have decided not go down this horribly commercialed path, including M&S, Harrods and Ikea.
I’m going to unsubscribe to all these other firms who have bombarded me with spam this week. ( Had 10 emails from one company)

I nearly ordered some new black cord trousers on Monday, am really glad I hesitated at the price as they are half price today, so I have joined the Black Friday spenders.

A lady I know of over 80 has been bought an Alexa as she can use it if she has a fall to call for help. I think that technology will help us all eventually be able to stay independent longer, we just have to be able to understand it.

Shysal, I know iPads are pricey, but in my opinion they are worth every penny and far superior to other tablets I’ve had experience of. Family members who have had various tablet brands and models have now all chosen iPads and agree they will now stick with these. My friend has an 8 year old iPad that still works brilliantly.

My Ipad definitely knows it is Black Friday . I had used it earlier, but when I went to switch it on again, nothing. Just the dreaded black screen. Luckily I managed to get it back to life by holding down the home and on/off buttons. Oh the relief. So I wrote a post to GN, and it disappeared, and I had to write it again. Creepy !.

Have just bought three pairs of trousers and a dress, allegedly 'saving' £190. However, if events follow the usual course of internet clothes shopping they won't fit or will look terrible and will all go back - thereby saving a lot more money.

I snapped up four sets of Magformers for the DGS for Christmas, half price from the UK site, (they're construction kits with magnets, for those who haven't come across them). I'd already decided to buy them for Christmas, and you rarely see offers on them, so I'm delighted. Not a single penny has been saved because I've just bought twice as much, but at least the gorgeous boys will get more for my money! I haven't looked for anything else, I really don't need anything (and I'll keep repeating that until I cave in and start googling).

Bought Kindle fire 8 and case for OH to give me for Christmas. My five year old Nexus just won’t charge up at all. So well pleased. Stopped looking for Black Friday bargains now!

My only purchases so far has been 4 t-shirts from Bonmarche for my daughter for Christmas, they were Buy one get one half price, plus free delivery.

Went to John Lewis as a friend was going. It was almost empty and the staff falling over each other to serve us.
We both bought small items which we knew we wanted, no impulse buying, and all were reduced.
The cafe was empty too.

Auntieflo dont panic that’s sometimes happen when it’s doing an update or the other way it to delete the blank page off the screen as sometimes it’s the programme itself that gets stuck

I Avoid shopping any time around Black Friday.
