My ancient Samsung tablet has been slowly dying and exasperating me, so I decided to take advantage of the Black Season (not just a day any more) to buy a new one at a good discount. Can't justify paying a lot for an ipad, but a new Samsung will be great!
What bargains have you bought and do you often buy reduced goods at this time of year?

Madsad envy!

Lovetopaint037 Thu 30-Nov-17 09:19:35

A kitchen aid mixer that I've coveted for years but couldn't justify expense. Got it the cheapest I've ever seen and a nice matt grey colour to boot!

Thanks Beau, I’ll investigate ?

My only buy on BF was a pair of Hotter boots (local shop) for £56 instead of £75. The snow has hit us up here and I needed another pair of boots. I couldn't get a seat to try them on when I went in but I didn't mind waiting - genuine offer and on till Monday.

I got a bargain, a Sage Kitchen Wizz food processor, on a price match.

I have been looking at food processors for several months, trying to decide if a small chopper was enough. I wanted a well made one that would last, not flimsy.

I like making veggie burgers and coleslaws etc, plus hummus and dips, chopping dates etc, so had almost decided to get the smallest proper Magimix. Thought the Sage was too expensive for me.

Then this came up, it was such a bargain I grabbed it, but now am thinking if I will really use it enough or not! It's from Lakeland so I can return it easily if I want to.

I feel a bit guilty splurging, but I think if I keep it on the worktop and use it for everything, that will help. I don't have many gadgets.

Can you really use Alexa for phoning others by just saying ‘Alexa phone x’? And I like the idea it can be used in an emergency...presumably you’d have to be in the same room as it though?.

I'm so envious, Nergard. GAP KIDS was always my first stop when we went to town and they always had a huge sale corner with fantastic reductions. Which is probably why I rocked up there one day and it had closed down. sad

Just clicked another Sonos 1 @ 20% off at JL . That's the whole house covered now .

Greengage Sun 26-Nov-17 02:45:45

Local garden centre's gift vouchers had 15% off so bought some to give and some for me as I know I will be spending money there during the coming year.

I dont like this idea from the States, which has turned into Black weekend if not longer.I was told by a friend they picked up the label stuck onto the product and the Black Friday price was more expensive than the original price! It pays to shop around, maybe not on Black Friday though.Good Luck to anyone who got a real bargain!

I normally avoid buying anything on Black Friday too but a friend did phone me first thing to let me know that I could buy Jason Manford tickets half price on Ticketmaster, so for a change I was tempted and bought two for myself and OH. Now I just have to persuade OH that he wants to go wink

SueDonim Fri 24-Nov-17 20:11:56

I bought a pack of Hoover bags at full price today. grin

Elrel Fri 24-Nov-17 20:09:20

Too late for BF, unless it’s BS or I can do it online but where should I get a small simple microwave to replace the one that has gone flash, bang, smoke?!

NotAGran55 Fri 24-Nov-17 18:55:15

We bought a Sonos 5 to add to the 2 1s and the 3 we already had . Not a bargain but was £40 off .

Auntieflo Fri 24-Nov-17 18:54:22

Thanks BlueBelle, DH was out, he is my usual first go to, but I remembered that it had happened before. All appears well at the moment.

pollyperkins Fri 24-Nov-17 18:47:47

I Avoid shopping any time around Black Friday.

BlueBelle Fri 24-Nov-17 18:30:50

Auntieflo dont panic that’s sometimes happen when it’s doing an update or the other way it to delete the blank page off the screen as sometimes it’s the programme itself that gets stuck
I m another who dislikes this stupid commercialism just makes people buy stuff they didn’t even know the wanted

Went to John Lewis as a friend was going. It was almost empty and the staff falling over each other to serve us.
We both bought small items which we knew we wanted, no impulse buying, and all were reduced.
The cafe was empty too.

My only purchases so far has been 4 t-shirts from Bonmarche for my daughter for Christmas, they were Buy one get one half price, plus free delivery.

Nanevon Fri 24-Nov-17 16:19:21

Bought Kindle fire 8 and case for OH to give me for Christmas. My five year old Nexus just won’t charge up at all. So well pleased. Stopped looking for Black Friday bargains now!

Maggiemaybe Fri 24-Nov-17 16:14:42

I snapped up four sets of Magformers for the DGS for Christmas, half price from the UK site, (they're construction kits with magnets, for those who haven't come across them). I'd already decided to buy them for Christmas, and you rarely see offers on them, so I'm delighted. Not a single penny has been saved because I've just bought twice as much, but at least the gorgeous boys will get more for my money! I haven't looked for anything else, I really don't need anything (and I'll keep repeating that until I cave in and start googling).
