I agree that we all have to accept that accidents sometimes happen and are nobody's fault, but when a hazzard has or should have been brought to the Council's attention we have a right to compensation. A few years ago I tripped on an uneven pavement in my road and badly damaged my elbow, resulting in a couple of operations, physio and almost a year of problems. I sued the Council, using one of the companies who advertise on line and, despite the Council trying to deny all liability, they eventually gave in before going to court. The compensation hardly made up for what I had gone through but was welcome and confirmed my belief that the Council was at fault.
