I've only just seen this thread. Hope today goes well for you NanSue and that you'll soon be back here telling us that you don't know what you were worried about!

Nansue, my thoughts are with you. You will be fine, a friend of mine had a benign brain tumour remove a couple of months ago. he is back to normal now (not that he was ever normal ). I also have a benign brain tumour, but luckily, it is not growing very fast, so may never have to be removed.

A bit scared? I'd be terrified. That positive thinking will help your speedy recovery.

One of the mums in my son's rugby team had this op. She seemed to recover incredibly quickly and 15+ years later is still going strong. Good Luck, anticipation is probably the worst of it

Nansue - I salute you. To be scared stiff and yet summon the strength to overcome or subdue your fears so as not to worry others takes a special kind of bravery.

I hope it all goes well. As others have said, I think you are being very brave. I would be in shreds by now. It's only natural to have fears at this time, take any help and support that's available.

Sorry to be late didn't see this yesterday. I hope everything goes well for you. My son had a massive brain tumour removed 14 years ago so I can understand your fears as well as those of everyone else. Best Wishes

Hi Sue, I haven't read all the replies but just wanted to tell you that my friend had the same surgery at the beginning of last year. The op took 9 hours and within an hour, she was sitting up talking and eating a yogurt. I was amazed by that. She has been absolutely fine, she was back at work (she's a busy childminder) within a few weeks and has had no problems at all.
