Maybe I am the only one but maybe not
Do you ever talk to yourself?

phoenix Fri 09-Sept-16 13:55:20

Frequently!

Charleygirl Fri 09-Sept-16 14:11:58

Eh no- my cat maybe!

Cherrytree59 Fri 09-Sept-16 14:19:26

Yes was actually cursing just a few minutes ago.
And what my DH calls chuntering

In my defence have just got enormous bill from phone provider.
I've been hacked angry

MiniMouse Fri 09-Sept-16 14:23:01

I talk to the cat and plants, and nag myself (because my name is MiniM and I'm a procrastinator)blush

Pollengran Fri 09-Sept-16 14:24:06

Yes! Every time I talk to DH I know I am talking to myself. I also talk to the cats, but at least they listen.

merlotgran Fri 09-Sept-16 14:33:39

Yes, in the car.

It's usually things like, 'Bugger, I've forgotten the shopping list!' or 'Shall I fill up with petrol now or do it on the way home?'

I must do it more than I realise at home though because DH will often say, 'What's that?' to which I reply, 'Oh,nothing.' hmm

hildajenniJ Fri 09-Sept-16 14:35:29

I'm by myself for long periods. I chat away to myself all the time. Usually I address the dog, but I'm not really talking to her.

Maggiemaybe Fri 09-Sept-16 14:42:29

Every time I talk to DH I know I am talking to myself. I'm with you there, Pollengran.

I thought I was talking to my cat the other day. It turned out I was having a one-sided conversation with my black and white handbag blush

Lona Fri 09-Sept-16 14:47:03

Oh yes, all the time, and I always have the last word!

tanith Fri 09-Sept-16 14:48:41

Yes I do it when I'm walking or in the bathroom blush

NonnaW Fri 09-Sept-16 14:50:44

Yes, I like talking to snsible people smile.

NonnaW Fri 09-Sept-16 14:51:10

Sensible, even!

Lisalou Fri 09-Sept-16 15:14:21

All the time, sometimes out loud - sometimes in my head. I talk to my teenage son, as well as dogs, cats, and plants. As someone else said, the latter three pay more attention than teen boy

Alima Fri 09-Sept-16 15:23:33

Don't talk to myself but do greet the cats, doesn't everyone? Have been known to say hello to a pair of trainers in the hall thinking it was a cat. It was a bit dark. DH seems to have whole conversations with himself, probably gets more sense than when talking to me.

millymouge Fri 09-Sept-16 15:25:58

Yes, definitely yes. Well I actually say I am talking to the dogs but I quite often hold quite a conversation with myself, out loud mostly. Well that way I get the answer I want I suppose.

ninathenana Fri 09-Sept-16 15:44:48

My name is Nina and I talk to myself......a lot
Was sitting in the car alone the other day window open and commented to myself about another drivers stupid manoeuvre. A gent walking passed bent down looked in the window smiled and agreed blush

hildajenniJ Fri 09-Sept-16 15:50:18

I always knew it! Talking to yourself makes you smarter

BlueBelle Fri 09-Sept-16 15:51:03

I m laughing out loud, thank God we re all as mad as each other, I find myself doing it often. I put it down to living on my own, worst is I kinda chat to myself when I m riding my cycle and if someone overtakes me I have to quickly turn it in a little song

M0nica Fri 09-Sept-16 16:18:06

Frequently

obieone Fri 09-Sept-16 16:32:12

Yes, not sure if I am doing it more now than I used to.
It bothers me when someone has heard me!

Cherrytree, heck!

Greyduster Fri 09-Sept-16 16:49:26

I only talk to myself when I'm fishing - mostly it is unprintable. There is nothing good to say when you are casting into a wind and forty seven feet of fly line lands in a heap on top of your head because your timing has gone down the pan! Sometimes I talk to the fish. One day one of them is going to talk back! I am very close to that delusion......

cornergran Fri 09-Sept-16 17:30:32

All the time. The computer even has a name! When she caught anyone talking to themselves a colleague used to say 'ah but you couldn't wish to talk to a better person' smile. Always done it and doubtlessly always will.

numberplease Fri 09-Sept-16 18:11:22

Talking to yourself is the only way to get a decent answer.

PRINTMISS Fri 09-Sept-16 18:15:00

It often appears these days, that people are talking to themselves, but they are of course on the mobile, or whatever it is they have glued to their ears. Walking through town today, I suddenly realised that if I talked out loud to myself, no one would take any notice, was quite relieved, because it is something I do.
