I realise that, on other threads, posters have expressed their views both in support of aNd against royalty.
But this just has to be beyond a joke. . .
Apparently this young woman is moving into a cottage which would cost a phenomenal amount in rent.
She has a job of sorts but just who is paying this rent?
Even if it is paid for her by her father it's still public money which could be put to much better use IMHO.

As s matter of interest auntybee what would you consider a "worthy Royal" hmm

Maybe we could have votes-only first 2 are Royal this year and the rest are sent out to work/live on benefits/find social housing?

Doubt we would notice, they get little press coverage with the exception of queenie and Phillip being so active at their ages

I don't believe the royals bring in the tourists. I think that's just a convenient myth to justify their existence. If all the palaces were empty the tourists would still flock here, Britain has much more to offer tourists than what the unelected Windsors can offer. Maybe tourism would increase if they were gone, it didn't do France any harm, the number one tourist spot in the world.

Hear hear lemon drizzle.
And something-not sure what!-needs to be done about these potty awards-OBE/CBE-we, mercifully, haven't had an empire for yonks.
Perhaps some sort of citizens award?
