I can't tell you all how nice it is to be on here

I'm going through a really bad time at the moment and being on here chatting away stops me from thinking too much.

I cry at the drop of a hat. I feel so isolated even though there are people here at home all the time, and I have such a happy life, something happened to rock my world last year and it is taking some time to come to terms with what happened.

Talking here is good. I know.. I talk too much. If I annoy the hell out of you, tell me.

I do so love to chat though.. always have smile

I'm not seeking attention - just communicating.

Sorry to hear that Nonnie it does take time to recover from a shock and sometimes it just hits you again at an unexpected moment . Talk away to your hearts content and feel to post even dare I say 'frivolous' posts. I hope you start to feel like your old self soon flowers

NanaandGrampy Fri 17-Jun-16 11:57:58

Virtual 'friends' can offer as much support as real life ones . So feel free to chat away if it helps you.... we're all here to avoid doing the housework anyway wink

JackyB Fri 17-Jun-16 12:01:36

Yes - talk away. Distract yourself. And if you feel ready for it, maybe unburden yourself, too.

Charleygirl Fri 17-Jun-16 12:02:23

NanaandGrampy that is not a word with which I am familiar- maybe when you have some spare time you can explain to me what I should be doing instead of spending too much time on line.

You know, some of the topics are so personal and heart wrenching, it makes me realise I have a lot to be thankful for.

I have a friend who is not allowed to see his children. It makes my problems pale into nothing by comparison.

Housework you say?

Wots that !

Anniebach Fri 17-Jun-16 12:07:08

Nonnie, post as often as you wish on any thread you wish , I am so sorry you are troubled

Nonnie1 Fri 17-Jun-16 12:10:11

You may live to regret saying that wink

Nonnie1 Fri 17-Jun-16 12:12:55

Thanks all.

I can't say what happened, and that's probably the problem. All I can say to you is that it happened and it got sorted, and I am living with the memory of it, and what they did.

GandTea Fri 17-Jun-16 12:19:44

Housework -- let me explain. Housework is what Mrs P says she is doing when, whilst having my afternoon nap, she attacks my ankles with the cleaner. hmm

Cherrytree59 Fri 17-Jun-16 12:24:08

nonnie keep chatting.
Had a few health probs myself.
I'm sitting in hospital reception waiting with fingers crossed at the moment. I'm by myself (my choice) GN is keeping me company and grounded.

sunshine for you sometime soon

Lona Fri 17-Jun-16 12:31:44

Nonnie Most of us have been on here for a therapeutic moan, or a little weep, so please keep on communicating.smile
Watch out for that GandTea though, he's a bit cheeky sometimes wink

Anniebach Fri 17-Jun-16 12:38:14

It is a case of priorities surely .

Do I wash the kitchen floor. Get the vacuum out. Wave the feather duster around. Sweep the back path. Wash the breakfast dishes. Clear the coffee table and file the mounds of papers or curl up on the sofa with iPad and visit GN ? To hell with the housework

Good luck Cherrytree, post away Nonnie

GandTea Fri 17-Jun-16 12:38:49

Only sometimes hmm

Yes Non, keep chatting, you will find plenty of sympathetic and empathetic ears here. Many of us have been down, including me, and Gners have helped with their support. Keep to the cheerful threads, some of the contentious ones would drive a saint to drink.

GandTea Fri 17-Jun-16 12:40:08

Annie, please have a word with Mrs P, then I might get an undisturbed nap. smile

Rosabella Fri 17-Jun-16 13:21:27

Hang in there Nonni1. I too have had to deal with very upsetting circumstances for the last two years that make me cry to myself (not infront of others) everyday. It releases the stress. My problem is also that I can't tell anyone about it.
Hopefully you will eventually feel better and be able to talk here or at least feel connected.
Chat away! smile

tiredoldwoman Fri 17-Jun-16 14:08:12

I think talking to strangers or from a behind a screen is easier than talking to friends and family .
Big hugs to both Nonni1 and Cherrytree x

Nonnie1 Fri 17-Jun-16 14:17:07

Rosabella

Is it normal to just break down and cry do you think? I wonder if this is the mind/body's way of healing itself?

I've stopped being able to sing now because it starts the moment I begin ..as if any effort is quashed by it.

At home I can relax and do it, but when I am out and about I find there are times when I know I'm going to cry so I can't answer people. I don't want to do this but feel overwhelmed.

Nonnie1 Fri 17-Jun-16 14:18:17

tiredoldwoman you are so right. It's 'safe' on here !

BBbevan Fri 17-Jun-16 14:26:22

Advice on houseworknonnie Get the Hoover out, plug it in. Then go and do something you like. If anyone visits, you were just starting the cleaning. Simple!!
I hope you get to feel better soon. Till then keep on chatting flowers

Indinana Fri 17-Jun-16 14:32:12

So sorry you have bad memories that you can't erase or talk about Nonnie. It's like having a scab that you can't help picking. You can cover it up with clothing but you know it's still there.

GN is a great place to come and chat away, distract yourself, have a laugh. Or have a moan, unburden yourself. There are always so many people who will rush to support you and help you through.

I do think, though, that you need to talk to someone about the issue. Perhaps not openly on here, but you could see a counsellor. It sounds as if you need that catharsis of unburdening your troubles to someone completely detached.

In the meantime, flowers and ((((hugs))))

Indinana

I know, but I'm putting it off. I'd like to think I could heal myself, but just when I think it's getting better, I do it all again.

Jalima Fri 17-Jun-16 14:40:20

And leave the duster in a prominent position (you were just going to start the housework!)

A bit of good advice from the midwife when DC2 was born: make sure there is food in the house, the children are fed and happy and that the bathroom is clean.
Leave everything else.

But I did do some baking for you: cupcake cupcake cupcake
It took no time at all
brew and flowers

Remind me to have a word with Mrs G&T!

GillT57 Fri 17-Jun-16 14:41:29

Nonnie just carry on reading and posting on here, there are good posts, contentious posts, interesting posts......and try to get the image out of your mind of GandTea being bashed about the ankles by a cleaner.....sounds rather cruel to the poor cleaner but who are we to judge eh?

Jalima Fri 17-Jun-16 14:42:36

X posts

Perhaps you need someone to talk it through with Nonnie, someone who is impartial
