I've not noticed DS taking off his beard, in my defence I'll say that only see him every other weekend!

Mrs. Grumppa had never seen me clean shaven before, come to think of it. The beard had last been removed for a part in a staff play in my Dip. Ed. year, 1967.

Because he so rarely leaves the house DH often doesn't shave. After a few days I start nagging but several times he has shaved it all off and I haven't noticed then he nags!

I have mentioned before that my mother didn't notice that my father had shaved off his moustache for their wedding. This was after she told him she would leave him at the altar if he didn't. She blamed nerves!
