I know what cheers up my DH but I'm not in the mood...feel a headache coming on.

Yes, take them dancing, forgot how good it was to dance together and get close.

Or get them to join a ukulele group, or choir or something like that.

I'm amazed my DH can spend all day doing something he loves.....fishing but still come home grumpy because he's tired and hungry

Fit Morris Dancers at Southwell today....

Being a Scot, I don't know the origins of Morris dancing...can anyone enlighten me?

It's origins are pagan, aren't they? Maybe a fertility rite.

I was visiting my DD who lives in London and the train from Scotland stopped at Milton Keynes and there on the platform was a Morris dancer in full dress. First time I've seen one (in the flesh, so to speak) very colourful. I was staring but no one else was batting an eyelash. Must be commonplace.

Every year Winchester has a Morris Dancing Festival which lasts all weekend. The whole city is inundated with men women and even small children all dressed up. The sound of bells is deafening, as small and large groups of them 'dance' in the city centre at various times.

Morris dancing is not the answer. I don't find food works either but LACK of food has a definite detrimental effect. A visit from DiL works while she's here but disappears quickly - the effect, that is, not DiL although on second thoughts........

An episode of Peaky Blinders for DH he loves the music, setting and the twists and turns.

Why bother? If they want to be grumpy and miserable, let them, I have enough trouble keeping myself happy and fit, encourage the o.h. to keep me company, but there are times when it only makes him worse, he probably doesn't feel well, like me sometimes. Depression, is of course another matter, but just being grumpy is life.
