OMG you are still there? The only thing in your favour is that most pharmacies close down at 6pm for Joe Public. Silly me thought that you were at home keeping Grace company.

That`s always a pain Alea, having to wait for the pharmacist. When I was discharged, it was 11.45am, when I actually left it was 5.30pm. My son, who was taking me home, was getting more impatient by the second!
Hopefully you and your hubby are home by now, enjoying a relaxing cuppa.
Soop, I hope you are feeling better, you`ll need all the energy and spark that you can muster when you get to Sussex! How are you going to sneak past Rory when you leave?

Alea You deserve a medal!
Does anyone know why exactly it always takes an age to get the medication? It's not like it's an unusual request.

When I was waiting for discharge after my TKR I started the ball rolling the previous day, knowing the system well but it still took until the morning of the following day for the drugs to be delivered to the ward. Fortunately only "everyday" drugs were being delivered, it would have been a nightmare if the drugs had to be ordered from outside sources.

A bit of a less than good day at work, I had to give my Boss a "look", AND over the top of my glasses! As my gran used to say, " that'll learn him!"

Soop, I'll volunteer for Rory duty too, although I would then need someone to look after Digby and Oliver Sprout!

Galen I can so easily picture you as Boudicca. Can you imagine what the cruise line would think if you turned up for your next cruise with a chariot instead of a wheelchair. It would cettainly keep them on their toes!

Just a brief visit , we have arrived safely at our villa in Florida and my bed is calling my name. Little ones arrive tomorrow , they will be so surprised to see us here !!

Alea it is a good job that your DH had you to act as his private porter because otherwise he would still be negotiating the corridors on his own, porters appear to be few and far between. One has to be fit to visit a hospital, either patient or visitor, the long corridors are similar at my local. You had a very eventful day and I hope that you both had an early night after relaxing with a G&T. Hopefully you can both have a lie in today and be less stressed. Grace will love both of you being at home again.

The sun is shining here but I do not know yet if it is warm or cold outside. I have had a stressful week sorting out oodles of paperwork as I am one of two executors for an aunt who died in Ireland earlier this year. The recorded delivery postage cost me close to £16 but to get rid of it I would have paid double. I slept the sleep of the dead as it is out of my hands. Tara woke me at some ungodly hour but settled after a cuddle.

I have to get my act together to go to the local B bank as I have an appointment with the manager. I have managed to get him to talk about scams at our next macular society meeting in two weeks. We have little money so it is difficult getting speakers for free but this bank is only doors away.

Nanaand Grampty what is the weather like? Bikini weather?! Good to hear that you arrived safe and sound.

I remember trying to find the right department in Inverness hospital. Even the nurses we asked were not sure. Found it at last up a staircase behind a door. They have a lovely colour coded system there, unfortunately they move the consultants about on a daily basis so it is pointless!

VAT and EC Sales list now done and my short temper will dissipate. I get so nervous pressing the submit button. It all flashed red as I had missed out a zero. I did it completely wrong once but luckily it is slightly more intelligent than me and knew it was wrong - luckily or I would have ended up paying thousands (it just comes out your bank account woosh). If we come out the EC the EC Sales list is one piece of red tape I will not have to do.

Grass still not cut, I don't know why Soop gets so much more sunshine than me . Did have sun but as soon as I had thought about getting my coat and boots on it was raining again. I don't want to know how much sun NanaandGrampy get, it is not fair. It is not raining or sunny today but I am at work, perhaps tomorrow ....

Although it is very sunny there is a heck of a wind in the back garden so I thought I'd come in here for a sit down by the windows. I've made hot chocolate if anyone would like one. I am so busy at the moment that I don't often have time for pootling and faffing and I have had a lovely morning doing just that - not that it acheived very much!!

Are you up yet Alea and where's that flipping baby - the weather is surely warm enough now! I bet you are really anxious/excited aren't you - keep us posted.

Galen, I knew you used a luggy and not a wheelchair but I would like to know where the lady behind you bought her handbag, it's just what I am after. I seem to recall having one like it years ago. East have let me down this year - I'm not too keen on any of theirs.

Lona, I hope your house sells. If sell you must, you need to get as much money out of it as possible after all the blessed aggro. Stand firm - with us all behind you.

Early morning as always on first day .

Tizliz and Charleygirl don't fret about sunshine and bikinis !! Currently a huge thunder and lightning storm is lighting up the sky like a crazy laser show !! I'm sitting under the lanai, coffee in hand enjoying the show.

Soon we will be off for breakfast , then large grocery shop pre arrival of my daughter and family.

I have a mission also - a decent child's size snorkel for Jackson and an inflatable crocodile for his little brother !! How hard can it be?

Kittylester we are nomads at heart and although I love my home , the lure of nearly 6 weeks sunshine ( this morning excepted!) is too great

Charleygirl sounds like you have climbed the paperwork mountain , but have a busy day ahead ! Good luck with the bank manager , they are so much more approachable than in the past .

Galen I like your laggy. Do you find it robust. I travel with my scooter - a Pride Victory and it does a good job but we do miss our car hoist when we're on holiday because it's heavy to get in and out of the car , although we do take it apart .

The luggie only weighs 23k without the battery and folds up. It fits into its own suitcase for flying.
I find it robust enough. I'm actually on my second but the first one had been to 30 different countries and travelled over a lot rougher terrain than it was meant to.

Galen sounds ideal, mine is fine for travel but is a pain for putting in the car. Might have to have a look while I'm here . May I blame you if I buy one :-) Grampy will need a scapegoat

Sunny day in Cheshire - just right for drying my bedding. Went to get it out of the machine and found that, although I'd set the programme, I'd forgotten to switch it on. So it's now on the cycle, almost finished and with any luck I can still get it dry this afternoon.

Well now...I've finished my pal's mini mountain of ironing. Into the kitchen I wander to discover so much activity. It's very hard to keep up with you lot but when I do, it's worth spending the time to update myself. You are ALL special peoples (as Torben is known to say).

Great news that, at long last, Alea's husband is back where he belongs. The endless corridors in hospitals should mean that all staff is in tip-top condition. They must walk umpteen miles every day. And yes...the wheelchairs are far too unwieldy. Alea sit yourself down and recharge your batteries. That baby is almost ready to join the family. I'm very excited for you.

Today is dry and the wind remains chilly. I understand that temperatures in the Sussex area are promising to be in the mid-twenties at the weekend. what I'm wondering is...do I repack my small bag yet again. Do I need lighter clothing. Then again...what if it rains. Unlikely, but one cannot take too much for granted.

phoenix That moment when, on our return, we peer through the window and Rory catches sight of us...stretches, yawns, comes to the door with tail held high, is always super-special.

Soop do you really need to take much luggage? When I go to stay with my daughter I hardly take anything. I either raid her wardrobe (which is so full that you have to push everything back and slam the door quick) or just use her washing machine. Are you flying? Then think that you will probably have to carry your bag to the plane and put it in the locker yourself (or flutter your eyelids at a nice tall young man )

Tizliz soop is taking him indoors along, MacSorran and being a perfect gentleman he will do the lifting and carrying whichever way they are travelling.

Tizliz, Charleyg is correct. My bag is much smaller than the cabin luggage permits. It's more or less a medium shopping back. We've one each. Apart fro extra Sloggis and a T shirt to sleep in, I'm taking one extra top and lightweight blouse. My jeans are extra smart. No need for a second pair. Also, just one pair of comfortable shoes. The rest of the space will hold the wee gifts to family. Returning home should be a doddle. We've also arranged for mobility assistance. So you see...I'm okay to go...but not until Friday morning.

Glad you are organised Soop. Got everything down to a minimum. Let's hope I can do the same on my hols instead of my usual jumping up and down on top of the suitcase to try and get it shut! Have a wonderful time and tell us all about it when you get back. P.S we expect lots of pixies.
