Personally I find the weeks leading up to Easter the worst of the year. So if I have added to the grumpiness, I apologise! and to brighten up your day.

Am not easily offended and we've already misplaced/lost one of our friendly contributors

I certainly find many of the threads depressing, argumentative or just boring (to me). Would love to see some cheerful, even amusing threads.
I do try to lighten up some threads, but usually fall foul of being called flippant or just plain rude and get shouted down.

So. lets have some funny stories (if you can't think of one, make it up, we won't know)

I like the sound of Grumpynet! I'm feeling particularly grumpy lately for no specific reason.
Just fed up with politicians, ignorant young people, ignorant old people, the weather, my friend, the house,my tablet, and most of all, my body!
I feel better for that, so Grumpynet must be a good thing. ????

Good idea N&G - except that a thread that could start off with sweetness and light will often degenerate into grumpy exchanges

Anya I agree with you - - I came over recently from Mumsnet and posted a question about a fashion item I was thinking of buying - - and was immediately accused of advertising! - nice welcome.
Then everyone piled in moaning about designer names and how they would never buy anything with a name on it and would always stick to what they bought 20 years ago! -- I felt utterly deflated.
There seem to be a lot of people entrenched in their ways and outlook who like shooting people down because they think they are right! - as you say - reminds me of several people I have no more to do with these days as we have not a lot in common -- is GN for me I wonder now?.

Ailments are ok Katek - we all have sympathy / empathy for people in pain - what we are saying is a lot of people post comments in a very narrow minded judgemental way - always with a negative slant -
- we need to be more positive and try and find the good before we comment - half glass full etc. etc.
