Thank you Lona We shall not learn any details after the scan. Next step is for MacS to have bloods taken. After which...we await an appointment with the haematologist. I'm wondering, as MacS's lymphoma is grade 1V...what might have changed to cause concern? We already know that the cancer is in his bone marrow. I wish that Galen lived a little closer. I could bend her ear and possibly learn from her expertise.

Alea It HAS to be a small red, as MacS is driving. After our evening meal we may very well indulge in a wee dram. It seems like a good way to end a day of toing and froing...

Alea they cannot stay in the lay by for long because Rory will need to be fed!

Alea a feast such as fish and chips at lunchtime tends to make me drowsy. The road between our home and Oban is, at times, tricky. It is the one road that I do not volunteer to drive along. MacSporran, on the other hand, is competent, and I usually nod off on the homebound trip.

I'm about to ride the exercise bike. After which I shall feed the cats. Another day has passed in a flash. I hope that you lot do your best to behave beautifully reasonably well in my absence. I know for certain that you'll not disgrace yourselves by having unruly bun fights...^us lot^ are far too sophisticated.

Charleyg Rory will be very comfortable during our absence. There will be a gourmet lunch left for him. Also, MacS sometimes leaves the radio on, so that Rory has company. .

I had my annual eye test today (my mother has glaucoma so I get a free eye test every year). Because I'm now sixty, they would normally have used eye drops that leave one's vision a bit fuzzy for a couple of hours for one of the tests, but apparently I have large pupils so it wasn't necessary. Next year I'll work around the not being able to drive straight away afterwards. It's useful to know about the pupil dilation in advance.

I hope I`m not too late to wish MacSporran all the best for the morrow. And take care on that long and winding road! It`s a very pretty route, but hubby hates driving it, says it`s tricky. Moi? All I have to do is admire the scenery!
By the way Soop, have you read Denzil Meyrick`s books? He grew up in Campbeltown, and his books are set there, but he`s changed the name to Kinloch in his books. It`s interesting recognising places from his descriptions, and being able to say "that`s such and such place, we`ve been there!" There are 4 books in the series so far, I`m on number 3.

I am up ridiculously early ( for me) , this morning it's hot buttered toast with homemade Gin and Lime marmalade ( never to early for a gin . Would that be more up your street Charleygirl I am off to help my youngest daughter hold a book sale at DGS3's preschool.

Years ( and years) of being in Marketing at the highest levels in global companies and I shall be using all that experience to cajole mums out of 20p a go this morning ! Probably the pinnacle of my success .

Luckily DH had a blood test yesterday when he went to the orthopaedic clinic to check up on the Cellulitis diagnosed last Thursday (as well as an X Ray. ) His Hb has dropped from 8.4 to 7.4 since Thursday, no wonder he is feeling even rougher than might be expected. He can barely walk the length of his own shadow and with one hand out of action, I have had to dress him too. So he has now gone for 2 units of blood as an outpatient at the Planned Care Unit. His INR is also sky high, probably as a result of being on a-b's , it's all just a mess. I do get very angry sometimes at the "hand" life has dealt him health wise. It really is not fair . Must stop, as I am getting self-pitying and there are many of you with worse problems!

Im sending you a hug Alea that all sounds so tough on you and your husband. I dont have anything that would help except maybe but it isn't midday yet so maybe not - being squiffy in Waitrose is sooo not the ticket !!

Life hasn't just dealt him a bad hand "Alea* it impinges on every aspect of your life as well.
I am also feeling very sorry for myself as we have a crisis with a GC, I am not going to tell all as it is very personal and complex but all I can think at the !moment is " what else can go wrong". My poor D is in bits.

I am thinking a "little treat at home for the ONE of me"!! DH won't be back until after 4 and is pretty much off his food at the moment presumably as he has been feeling so rotten, so much of last night's casserole lovingly (?) prepared so that he could eat it one handed , went to the grateful greyhound. Always a silver lining says Grace!

When my girls were in school , on the first day back after the summer holidays I would pack them off then make a large plate of fresh chicken sandwiches on white bread with proper butter,cheese and onion crisps and a fresh cream meringue.

Id have a fresh, shiny, new Mills and Boon to hand and I would retire to my bed until 3pm to eat, read and enjoy the silence !!

As our (fortnightly) cleaner has just been and the house is pristine, my treat of choice will be 3 hours of either silence or Radio 4, Graceasleep in front of the fire, (oven) fish and chips (well a person can pretend) , no red wine as I will have to pick DH up around 4, but a wee nap (NOT NIP) might also feature. I know how to live life
