OK! This is the final message from this kitchen. I'm off to open the new one so that You lot don't get lost. I cannot bear the thought of losing any of our Kitcheners. You are far too precious.

I'm aboot to prepare myself for a marathon session of ironing for my pal. She has returned from a holiday. Stacks of stuff to deal with.

Charleyg Our friend will celebrate his 80th birthday on the same day that I reach my 75th. In body he's still very active. In mind...he's going down hill fast. So sad. He was diagnosed with oncoming dementia shortly before his wife died from cancer. They had been "courting" for about 22 years. Next month would have been their 2nd wedding anniversary.
I see that we are perilously close to having to close this kitchen door and re-open yet another.
I shall look in first thing tomorrow morning. I'm logging off until then. I think that we'll call our next venue...*Soop's Kitcheners*...

The photos of the flowery garden wasn't taken this year. It is something like that we are looking forward to. A few early blooms are adding splashes of colour. Mostly yellows and purples.
kitty You deserve an armful of . You must feel as if you're on a fairground ride from which you cannot escape. You have our respect. Please may life treat you more kindly before too long.
Galen The last person Anne needs right now is that soppy sister of hers.
I also imagined the silkies to be a breed of toy dog. I can imagine MacS's response if I entertained the notion of letting hens come into the house.

The care home visit was tough. Our neighbour has almost lost his voice. It's been becoming frailer by the week. I had to lean in very close to him to hear him. A few words brought tears to my eyes; 'I want to go home with you...'
M was enthralled with the television news regarding the hijacked plane. She kept repeating...they should go in with guns blazing... I thought. That wouldn't necessarily result in a happy conclusion.
I sat for a while with C. C is permanently smiling. She tells me at each visit that the key to happiness is accepting one's lot. She's right. The room is full of residents who are either fast asleep, calling out for assistance, frustrated by their lot in life...C remains Zen-like. She's a survivor.

Sorry I am not around much at the moment, I do keep an eye on you all but, with one thing and another, I'm very short of time.
Galen, I bet Anne (next door) was very glad to have your support - how thoughtless of her sister.
I hope everyone who is ill feels better soon.
I mentioned on another thread that my brother has broken and cracked ribs sustained by falling from a stepladder, balanced on a garden table, rather too close to the wall which he hit on his way down as the stepladder toppled. And, my BiL being in hospital after falling over while having a dizzy spell. And, Mum coming and going, as it were! There are lots of illnesses and accidents - I wonder if I am the common denominator? 
As you say, Nannaand, every cloud.... But do hope you get over it soon.

Yes Himself was well trained by his mother, then the army and then me he definitely wont starve but is likely to exist on salmon or shepherds pie - his 2 most favourite things !
Alea I'm excited for your imminent new arrival and do have the urge to get out the knitting needles ! Are you a knitter? I love a handmade cardigan on a tiny one - my Mum always used to say it surrounded them with love.
soop I am amazed at the affection your friend was held in - what an huge amount of money to have been raised.
Your hard work in the garden has certainly paid off but I don't know where you get the energy. I'm a rubbish gardener but whatever those orange and red and yellow flowers are they're glorious !
Galen I did chuckle at the case of mistaken identity of the 'silkies' . For once I wasn't misled , we had been looking at keeping some chickens and these are simply lovely . I'm not sure I'd want to keep them inside but horse for courses eh?
Well, I need to go and pack my bag for the doctors, tissues, glasses, phone, iPad( I'll be there a while !) cough sweets. Its like a day out
