This might raise a smile. A hound-owning friend sent me it to show Grace that there are some advantages to lampshades!!

A bit cheeky of me to start this, but hope it is allowed!
Good morning Kitcheners!
DH seems to be perking up (typical!) which is good and is planning on getting up properly, shower and dressed.
Now I can moan that I have nonetheless cancelled a day trip I was booked on tomorrow to the Arts and Crafts museum in Chipping Campden and then to Rodmarton Manor with my art history class. Can't leave him for a long day without any means of getting back at short notice, heigh Ho, c'est la vie!

Alea I do like that way of using a lampshade.
Your link made me laugh Alea. I'm going to send it to my cousin who has rescue greyhounds.
So funny and clever!
Alea Brilliant! Thank you for sharing.
I'm about to add MacSporran's breakfast time image of the islands. It remains a beautiful day. I also feel very much better than I have done all week. I shall have a large G&T at six o'clock sharp.
I shall also toast you lot and thank you for your company.
Until tomorrow...(hugs) and
Nellie our posts crossed. By gum, those buns look good enough to eat. I swear that I can smell the cinnamon from here.
Soop Have you, or would you, ever venrture into painting children?
I agree Alea that was brilliant- not that Grace would do anything like that, being a well mannered young lady!!!
Love that Alea, that's one smart dog!
Not been feeling great today, nausea and bad head, but my next door neighbour popped round this afternoon with a bunch of daffs for me! Wasn't that nice of him?
Those buns look good Nellie, if I could have one with lots of butter, I'm sure I'd feel better!
Love that Alea!
Nellie a few years ago Soop painted a lovely picture of my dog Charlie alongside DD3 when she was about 7.
Morning all !
I happen to have some chocolate croissants gently warming and decent coffee brewing if anyone is about
soop I showed my husband the morning photo from MacSporran and he just said 'Wow' . ( He's a man of little words {grin})
It's a beauty , the misty colours make me want to decorate something !!
As its Leap Year Day we are throwing chores and caution to the wind and after breakfast we're going out - who knows where !! After all it's a 'spare' day - seems a shame to waste it.
Many moons ago when I was a Girl Guide, after Church Parade on sunday we used to go on a left/right hike. It involved getting a bus to the top of Portsdown Hill and then walking taking a left turn first and then a right , including footpaths.
Great excitement on the mystery of that at the age of 12 - maybe we'll try it in the car today but I suspect we would end up in someone's drive !
Have a lovely day all , turn the oven off when you've finished the croissants please !
Just don't end up going the wrong way up a one way street!
The sun is shining but it is very cold. Tara went out early so I doubt if I will see her before 7pm this evening. Her grumbling stomach and need to use the litter tray will bring her home again.
The coffee was lovely but thankfully I do not like chocolate croissants or hot cross buns. I am aware that they are calorie free but I do not like them.
Alea has Grace opened her eyes yet?
soop I do hope that you are keeping all of the bugs and lurgies away from *MacSporran. and that Rory is being cared for to the usual high standard he has come to expect.
Morning everyone. I'm feeling sorry for myself with a chesty cough which led to a terrible night's sleep so I'm not doing anything today that involves much thinking! I'm not blaming MacSporran Soop and don't worry, I'll keep well away from him - and everyone else.
I'm sitting in the conservatory, watching the birds on the bird feeders and wondering if they're going to try out my new dog hair nest-lining distributor - dog hairs from grooming in an upside down cream container with holes. I'll let you know if any of them do use it.
A happy good afternoon to our Granspal Kitcheners. How lovely it is to have your company.
Fresh coffee and chocolate croissants. I don't mind if I do. How thoughtful of you NanaandG Your idea for the extra day outing sounds very sensible. We'll be going to Oban tomorrow (for MacS's CT scan)...we shall therefore treat ourselves to fish, chips and mushy peas after his appointment. Oban is a delightful small town. The restaurant that we may visit is on the harbour-side.
Badenkate The cough that you are suffering with is a very nasty thing. So many folk in the village have the same bug. Relax and stay cosy.
As for the dog hair nest-liner...what a very sensible idea. A discerning bird's starter home...
Charleyg Tara is a busy girl. You would not get Rory to stay out for longer than a few minutes (unless he's watching MacSporran in the garden. Rory, like Tara, prefers to use his litter tray.
Lona you may have picked up the vomiting virus. It is horrid for the time it takes to move through the system. Drink plenty of fluids. It will pass in a day or so.
Nellie I've painted just four pictures of children. One was of bag's grandson. One for Marmite and two of our youngest grandson.
Grace is graceful...x
Fish and chips (it has to be battered cod, not just mildly abused) is one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES! Enjoy!!
I do like a full bodied red with it too. <sighs longingly>
Hope the day goes well soop and macSporranx.
Alea I know that Grace does lie elsewhere- no doubt the warmest place in the house that she can find.
soop all the very best for MacSporran tomorrow- fish and chips afterwards sounds lovely. I know of one four legged beastie who will feel hard done by and neglected. Please give him an extra cuddle from me when you return home. I do not know if you will be travelling a great distance- I only home that the weather will be okay.
Soop I could be tempted if you have time. How long is your waiting list of projects? I have got some good photographs. of my two DGS's
Thank you, Alea...that's exactly how we like the dish. We also treat ourselves to a small glass of red wine. A bonus. I may not be home in time to visit our kitchen. I shall try. If we're running late, I shall catch up with you lot on Wednesday...possibly after my weekly ironing duties.
Good luck for MacS tomorrow soop
Yeah right soop a small glass of red wine and if you don't make it into the Kitchen, it couldn't possibly be because you are having a little post-prandial and post-red wine nap, could it??
