What do you call your vulva?

On the back of the washing thread, I was just wondering what you call your vulva? It seems such an unattractive word to me, so I call mine fufu. Daft I know but there you are. My friend calls hers her lulu. My granddaughter calls hers front bottom. How about you?

Nice to see you again Flowerofthewest.

OK end of now please...........

Why? You don't have to read the thread if it offends your sensibilities.

A previous poster mentioned "Thruppeny bit" - that's not anything around the lower area (ahem) but in the London I grew up in was rhyming slang for a totally different part of the anatomy.

Like others I mention "vagina" at the doc or hospital and both DH and I refer to our bits as "bits". But I'm charmed by "froufrou" and I may well give DH a bit of a surprise when he comes to bed tonight .....

Vagina and vulva are different anatomically!
I think froufrou is the French colloquialism

Did he enjoy his surprise gulligranny?

Well Ana, we should never underestimate the readership of threads like this on the internet.

Unfortunately, Annsixty, I was asleep by the time he came to bed! But this morning .... yes I think we can say he did enjoy the surprise.

Thank you Galen. It takes a doctor to keep things anatomical right. I have been thinking about this and don't ever remember having to use the word in 65 years. Hence my confusion.

I could handle any of the names suggested......except for the C word. I associate it with men of my (reluctant) acquaintance who are really vile to women.

No, not [laugh] .....grin

My grandmother and mother used to call it 'Mary' of course these were the days that the proper names were not used, why I don't know. I have two daughters, and carried on the tradition of 'Mary' they just think it's funny. My 9 year old granddaughter now says 'Mary' too, although she did say to me when she was about 6yrs old, "you know nan it's actually a Vagina!" Bless.

etheltbags1 Mon 01-Feb-16 20:39:55

I just say my 'tooshey' to the family and to a doctor I would say 'down below. BTW are we talking about the hairy bit or the insides ?

etheltbags1 Mon 01-Feb-16 21:03:22

I have just read the whole of this thread and its so funny, glad were all anonymous though smile

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 02-Feb-16 15:26:36

ethelbags1 I think your thread about washing intimate places is the funniest I've read on here. Your OP was fine, it was just some of the later responses had tears running down my face! grin

pollyparrot Tue 02-Feb-16 15:40:39

Flowerofthewest Thu 04-Feb-16 08:56:30

Elegran Thu 04-Feb-16 09:30:48

Teetime Thu 04-Feb-16 09:37:41

I cant belive we are still on this subject. Anyway to conclude on my part I have just taken my entire 'downthere' for cervical screening. I was told it was the last one I shall be offered so I am officially clinically obsolete 'downthere'. grin

pollyparrot Thu 04-Feb-16 09:49:39

I'm completely obsolete, my cervix is long gone!
