Helping to look after an older parent

Although I do not live with my father , he has is own house , but as got a stage where he needs proper help.
My sister has come down from another part, and looks after , whilst a younger brother works.
He is 89, wears nappy's now, he got pneumonia a couple of years , had has got liquid in his lungs, he had an operation a few months back where a pouch is fitted and changed by the district nurse, this creates more pain due his weakness health wise. Trouble as regards to care full time , with his own house and my younger brother living there the real situation as to how things go will be a bumpy ride.

If you are elderly yourself and the only carer of in my case 2 parents there comes a time when you feel like your own life is over.
I had no sister or brother to share the caring role with.
Even with a social worker and eventually carers going into my parents home 4 times a day there was still a lot for me to do. I missed a lot of my DGC's early years.

Thank you annsixty you said how I feel also and so well and kindly.

Mick you have conflicting ideas to read through but I hope you feel supported and helped.
