Corks

They were too unprofitable, they grow so slowly. No-one could afford to plant new trees and wait for them to mature.

Fewer real corks about these days, MOnica. Wonder what's happening to all those cork oaks in Portugal? Another industry down the pan?

Use real corks as kindling when making a fire and bin the plastic ones.

I put them on the ends of garden canes to make them safe when supporting plants.

When we had a restaurant, we used to collect a lot of corks. DH made lovely notice boards with them.

Or make some of these. The ideas almost make me wish I was a drinker!

If you tuck a few into your bed, they are supposed to prevent cramp.
