Just read the most ridiculous interview (I'm killing time clearly while I wait to go meet my grandson) with a 'celebrity'. He was asked if he'd ever had a near-death experience. And he said a penguin had once come close to him (on a beach in South Africa) and fixed him with a beady eye! shock Well, if a calf-height bird with an inquisitive nature scared him silly, then really he's going to be living off rescue remedy for the rest of his life... Anyone had a real scary experience with an animal? I once had a scorpion in my shoe. But that's about it.

Thank you all. Yes, I did make him after the John Lewis advert with the penguins last Christmas. I took him to the Church Christmas Fair, and he did sell, when I said he was Monty's long lost cousin.

A donkey lived in the field beside my school. We used to go and let it, and feed it handfuls of grass. It must have been particularly peckish one day, it took a bite out of my school Cardigan, and I was wearing it at the time. shock

I feel sure there's a pun in there somewhere hilda!
My sister once woke up with a snuffling sound next to her. She turned on her bedside light only to discover a large rat sitting on the bedside table right next to her head! I imagine both got the fright of their lives.
I know rats aren't particularly life-threatening...but even so...
