A donkey lived in the field beside my school. We used to go and let it, and feed it handfuls of grass. It must have been particularly peckish one day, it took a bite out of my school Cardigan, and I was wearing it at the time.

Just read the most ridiculous interview (I'm killing time clearly while I wait to go meet my grandson) with a 'celebrity'. He was asked if he'd ever had a near-death experience. And he said a penguin had once come close to him (on a beach in South Africa) and fixed him with a beady eye! Well, if a calf-height bird with an inquisitive nature scared him silly, then really he's going to be living off rescue remedy for the rest of his life... Anyone had a real scary experience with an animal? I once had a scorpion in my shoe. But that's about it.
