Just need to whinge

I was feeling very whingy. I'm not very good with living in a mess. Our house is small and everything has to have it's place. If it can't be there then the house very quickly becomes a mess.

DH says if the joiner doesn't come in the next few days he'll get some skirting from B and Q and finish our bedroom so we can redecorate and get the wardrobes back in place. Once that's done the rest will sort of fall into place [fingers crossed]

If you are anywhere near me, up north, then come and have a brew, my kettle is always on.

I'm up north. It's not freezing outside....just in my damp plaster house.

The builders are taking the proverbial. My landlord is getting the house done using a government grant. They have the contract and know he can't go anywhere else so they have him over a barrel. Apparently he has to pay them up front then they sign a form and he can claim it back. He has to have the documents in by the beginning of October so hopefully they'll have sorted themselves out by then.

I offered to phone them on his behalf as I'm very close to being a hysterical female. For some reason he wouldn't give me the number

They don't sound very reliable builders to be so slow - you must be heartily fed up with them! You have my sympathy. Do you know how much longer they are going to be. Definitely go on strike with the cups of tea!

It's hard to imagine it that cold, it's still T-shirt weather in SE with just the odd cardigan day outside.

I'm waiting for the plaster to dry out on our granny pad. The plasterer was a fortnight late starting the job so we've lost the good weather

I need to get decorating ASAP but at least I've managed to do the cutting in around where the power points/light fittings are because the electrician is coming tomorrow to do the second fix.

Oh the joys of building work. At least I'm not living in it like you vq. Hope you manage to get a day out tomorrow.

I've kept busy but DH had agreed to take out some mini bus trips (he's a volunteer driver) so I've been unable to go out. Tomorrow we are going out regardless. I don't know where but we're going out The plasterer doesn't think anyone will come tomorrow because they'll leave the plaster to dry for a couple of days.

Can you get out for part of the time? Sitting in it all must make it worse.

Yeah, 2 days ago kitchen ceiling leaking from under bath, leaked onto light which blew out the lights.
Plumber can't get replacement parts so need new taps!
Not as dramatic as you though!!
