My friend had been particularly forgetful recently, her DH was worried she might be showing symptoms of dementia, as her mother had suffered before her death. Apparently she still doesn't fully realise what has happened to her although she is speaking quite normally (and if I know her, that means a lot and to everybody in sight!) and has no awareness of either the left side of her body or things on her left. For instance her DH and she were having a go at a crossword and she was fine, but only attempted the clues on the right. Something not as it should be there 
DH not as good today, and it is his birthday too. I was going to take him to Brasserie Blanc for lunch but he didn't feel up to it so we will have another go tomorrow. One step forward and only half a step back!
Alea A stroke can cause havoc. My father was suffered a stroke after surgery. He went down hill and died very soon thereafter. And yet our pal who has had several mini-strokes, and is now in a care home, has all his "marbles" and is confined there because his mobility has been severely compromised.
Sorry that your husband was not feeling up to celebrating his birthday. Never mind, just as soon as he does feel improved you'll be celebrating in style.

DH was feeling much more human so we made it to Brasserie Blanc and are now -*totally stuffed* You get terrific value there.
He managed to walk from the underground Sainsbury's car park through part of the store and across the road to the restaurant which is further than he has walked in 2 weeks. Did you know that your muscle tone can detiorate after only 48 hours in a hospital bed? Scary.
Unfortunately his haemoglobin had dropped again so he has to have another 2 units of blood tomorrow morning. Heigh ho, one step forward but half a step back again.
Alea your husband did well and it must have pleased you enormously to get out and enjoy a special meal. It is bound to take a lengthy spell of convalescence until he is finally back to his normal self. In the meantime... and a (hug)

It has been a gorgeous sunny day here, I wonder how Galen's DD's wedding has gone?
Wish I could feel a bit more upbeat, but up by 6 this morning to get DH to hospital for his blood transfusion, he really isn't feeling great and I have persuaded him to try to have a wee nap in bed this afternoon
It really is 1step forward and 3/4 of a step back at the moment.
Alea Bless you. I can only imagine how tired you must be feeling. You have had an anxious time and I hope that you can take a wee nap yourself, whenever the opportunity arises.
Sorry to say that the Mother deer and fawn image is blurred. Such a shame. I possibly had the camera shutter on the wrong setting. Hey ho as bags would say.
