kittylester Sat 19-Sept-15 11:40:59

What a happy couple Galen, glad you had a good day. brew

Lots of lovely photos on here including all the hair. I'm still jealous of people with lots of hair. I have at last made peace with my fine hair and can getting it looking presentable. It only took about 60 years and trusting my hairdresser. grin

soop Sat 19-Sept-15 12:02:25

A very good Saturday morning to you lovely lot...

Galen the photograph of the happy couple is lovely. What did you wear? I would love to see you in your finery. flowers

janer Wowee! Stunning!

Charleygirl and kitty my hair is ultra-fine. There is a lot of it and it tangles easily. I used to have it razor-cut and very short. I'll look out a photo sometime.

Tennis! Andy played a terrific game. I believe that he may be in the doubles match with his brother Jamie this afternoon.

Charleygirl Sat 19-Sept-15 12:12:31

The photos are lovely- I especially loved the deer with its doe.

The couple do look so happy Galen and I am pleased that you enjoyed yourself but there is nothing like your own home.

soop Sat 19-Sept-15 12:24:12

Charleygirl I agree with you...there is no place quite like one's own home. Aren't we so fortunate? If only the millions of displaced people could say as much.

soop Sat 19-Sept-15 17:42:36

I've been busy doing nothing...except shouting encouragement to Andy and his brother, Jamie. What a stunning, thrilling four hour long doubles match against the Aussies. Now of course, I ought to do something remotely useful. hmm What's a girl to do? Soon be time for a soothing G&T. It's a hard life...

janerowena Sat 19-Sept-15 18:52:06

Galen what a lovely photo. Doesn't she look like you!

Back in the days before straighteners, my hair was the bane of my life.

Lona Sat 19-Sept-15 18:59:17

Galen That's a lovely photo! Glad you had a good day.

janer your hair was fabulous! smile

loopylou Sat 19-Sept-15 19:25:36

Galen what a lovely photo of the happy couple.

Why is it that we're rarely happy with the hair we have? Mine's been cut, coloured, thinned, curled, straightened, cursed and cajoled too....

Just back from deepest Yorkshire Dales, no phone signal let alone wifi so very peaceful break. Walked miles in beautiful countryside and sunshine too.

Back to reality now and work on Monday sad, just need to get piles of washing done and put everything away - worse bit of going away.

janerowena Sat 19-Sept-15 20:13:31

I ended up having to get up at sparrow's fart to pick dahlias for the church, for harvest festival. I had a lovely time with friends who brought along coffee and muffins, but I have a sinus infection and a chest infection and feel really ropey! I was glad I went, because they were short of help and flowers and produce this year, but I think I need an early night tonight.

I have two weeks' worth of antibiotics. I read the info and was very relieved to see that I shall be extremely healthy when the course is finished. All of my

pneumonia
endocarditis
kidney problems
abcesses
peritonitis
bladder problems
gonorrhoea
and fevers caused by salmonella

will be cleared up - and hopefully the chest and sinus infection as well!

glammanana Sat 19-Sept-15 20:28:51

Just popping in to say Hi and have a quick relaxing rest on soops comfy sofa for a while.
The shoulder and arm are very slowly getting back to normal but still very painful but am able to type much better now thank goodness.

All the photo's are fabulous all that big hair !! I remember having a perm in the 70's which grew outwards instead of down I looked like a yard brush from a distance.
I miss talking to everyone everyday it is difficult with me working again as when I get home all I want to do is feet up and chill out,the charity may soon appoint a permanent manager and I can then return to normality.
xx

Galen Sun 20-Sept-15 12:15:38

Here you are. I'm the old fat one!

Galen Sun 20-Sept-15 12:18:10

Actually I'm taller than her, but she's wearing high heels! ( cheat )

janerowena Sun 20-Sept-15 12:27:44

You look really good, love the colour - and I still think she looks just like you!

Lona Sun 20-Sept-15 12:30:51

Galen you look beautiful and the pearls make you positively regal!

soop Sun 20-Sept-15 12:45:05

Galen You are knock-out stunning in your elegant wedding suit. I love the colour. Superb! smile

soop Sun 20-Sept-15 12:58:33

...and your daughter has inherited your good looks...hold on to the pearls! wink

Warm welcome back to our dear glammanana Shoulder and arm injuries seem to take an age to heal. It is lovely to have your company for a wee while. flowers

janer To be honest, you should be tucked up in bed or...better still, sitting in a comfortable armchair with a rug across your knees...pot of tea and something delicious to nibble on close by. (hugs) from us lot to you.

loopylou I'm glad to hear that the sun shone for your visit to the Yorkshire Dales. However, we all come down to earth with a gentle bump when we return home and need to catch up with the boring stuff such as laundry. I have just this minute remembered that the wash cycle must have finished about an hour ago. I've been catching up with news of Torben. A couple of delightful photos to share with you.

And then...the Davis Cup will be on the agenda. Come on...ANDY!

soop Sun 20-Sept-15 13:14:06

Two more delightful images of Torben...

Charleygirl Sun 20-Sept-15 13:33:23

Torben is growing up so quickly. He was a toddler the last time I blinked. I love his blond hair- I hope that it stays with him.

loopylou Sun 20-Sept-15 13:34:31

Glamorous or what Galen! You look amazing, I love the colour.

Soop, your Torben is a really good looking little man, isn't he? Washing done, ironed and put away, now need to start getting my head around going back to work tomorrow.....

For some obscure reason the shrubs in the garden have grown enormously since we went away 12 days ago confused, I can only assume it's the rain? Nothing else has grown so much! My bay tree 'lolly pop' has 6" shoots sprouting out all over the place hmm and the loincera is halfway across the patio....

janer if anyone had been suffering from a list like that I'd have feared the end was nigh! Seriously though you should be coddling yourself and being waited on hand, foot and finger. I do hope you start feeling better soon.

soop Sun 20-Sept-15 15:37:20

Charleygirl Torben's daddy's hair was blond as a child. I was also blond. Now, though, my son's hair is chestnut brown as was mine at his age. Torben's Mummy has natural black hair. It is her crowning glory.

loopylou My goodness you've achieved a great deal during the time I've been yelling encouragement for Andy. The match was superb. Andy won but he must have been running on an empty tank towards the close. Well done, Andy. grin

soop Sun 20-Sept-15 17:20:48

I am putting the finishing strokes to yet another pet portrait. I shall share with you tomorrow. I wish you all a pleasant Sunday evening. Until tomorrow wine Slainte!

dustyangel Sun 20-Sept-15 17:23:16

Fantastic pictures of soop and janer with their lovely hair. soop, I always imagined that you used to have black hair.

It looks like a lovely wedding Galen They look a well suited and very happy couple.
I love your suit and the colour really does suit you.

soop Mon 21-Sept-15 12:33:22

dustyangel dark brownish with chestnut highlights. Now totally salt and pepper. grin

It is a sunny day with plenty of low cloud. I am getting together information that I hope will be of interest to one of the lovely ladies in the care home. She is almost 95. In the war she was a WAAF and serviced Beaufighter bombers. I have found a book containing several photographs of that particular aircraft together with images of the airstrip at Turnberry. She's also very proud to reminisce about her father, who was one of the earliest golf professionals in Kintyre. I've a book (for her birthday) containing old photos of Campbeltown and Machrihanish golf club during the time when he was there.

Bellanonna Mon 21-Sept-15 12:46:08

galen , that suit is gorgeous. I know if I were looking for something like that I'd never find it.

soop Mon 21-Sept-15 13:41:27

Bellanonna I so agree with you. If ever I see something that I consider would be perfect for a special occasion, I have no need for it ...but, if I set out to find that certain something when I really need it...it appears to be a mere figment of my imagination.hmm
