Just seen the latest proposal of that possible Labour leader he wants women only carriages n trains, some of his ideas are stupid hope he does not win, because things like renationalisation of rail etc costs money, to pay for most of his ideas in his world , it would increase the basic rate of Income Tax to 35%.

I made the stray dogs bit up.wink

rosesarered Thu 27-Aug-15 15:37:48

I made up the M&S vests as well.

rosesarered Thu 27-Aug-15 15:38:08

But not the jam bottling.

Anya Thu 27-Aug-15 15:41:28

Private Eye seem to think he buys his vests at Marx and Spencers too.

Anya Thu 27-Aug-15 15:42:22

I think he would pat stray dogs Rosesarered

I don't think middle of the road labour voters are scared by him rosesarered, nor do I think they are worried that JC could wreck Labour's chances at the next election. After all, the party as it stands didn't appeal sufficiently to the electorate at the last election and it can hardly move any further to the right without tripping over the Conservative party. I do think some Blairites within the party are rattled by the support JC seems to be getting, probably because they realise their style of politics is over. I have no idea who will be the eventual leader of the party but as others have said, I think JC has done us all a favour by reminding us that principles and politics can co-exist and endure. Love him or loathe him, he has stood true to his beliefs for longer than many new Labour politicians have been alive and he is IMO a man of integrity.

Who knows Anya? Your guess is as good as mine, regarding stray dogs ,
So, it is M&S for the vests.... Well, maybe, but Private Eye isn't Gospel, so maybe not. on the other hand, apart from M&S there are not too many places these days selling vests, so the probability is, that he does buy them there, but I am unable to quote facts and figures and have no links to post.smile

rosesarered Thu 27-Aug-15 15:59:41

Nightowl, think you are wrong there, we have friends who are middle of the road Labour voters and they are worried, and they won't be the only ones.
I. Don't think anyone has doubts about his integrity, more, can he be a credible leader, and future PM.

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 16:20:29

Marx & Spencer! grin

rosesarered Thu 27-Aug-15 16:25:21

Wonderful! Why didn't I think of that Ana?grin

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 16:26:54

It was in Anya's post of 15.41, roses!

rosesarered Thu 27-Aug-15 16:28:24

Having been accused of the sin of levity on the other thread,( coatgate!)we will now be harangued about vests, and our lack of seriousness at all times while we discuss JC.

rosesarered Thu 27-Aug-15 16:29:19

Apologies to Anya, must have missed that one.smile

rosequartz Thu 27-Aug-15 18:29:02

Doesn't he buy his vests from a market stall near where he lives?
Hope they are not produced by slave labour, surely they must be Fair Trade?

DM would have approved of wearing a vest, however, she would not have thought it seemly for DF (committed socialist though he was) to go around showing his vest!

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 18:46:31

I can't get that image of Steptoe that someone posted out of my head! grin

Although I have to admit that JC is better looking...

rosequartz Thu 27-Aug-15 19:18:00

He does have a certain je ne sais quoi

(Better now than he looked a few years ago)

What makes someone's profile page "not available". 12Michael'scome up with this.

soontobe Sat 29-Aug-15 10:08:14

There is a thread about profile pages. There seems to be a gransnet glitch.

thatbags Sat 29-Aug-15 10:09:31

I can't even look at my own profile page. I suspect there's a big blip in the system, maybe something to do with that hacking over on the Other Place.

thatbags Sat 29-Aug-15 10:09:49

X posts, STB

Gracesgran Sat 29-Aug-15 10:30:27

Oh - I thought he might be hiding smile

soontobe Sat 29-Aug-15 10:47:34

He starts a new thread every morning.

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 11:07:24

I don't think talking about JC's vest is frivolous - don't you think a person's attire says something about them?
First impressions and all that!

Would he wear his vest with a shirt over the top if he were to become PM? Perhaps for an audience with HM (before he makes her redundant?) Or meeting with foreign dignitaries? I suppose better than a bare chest like some I won't mention.

Are his economics as sloppy as his dress sense?

trisher Sat 29-Aug-15 11:24:22

So having Saville Row hand made suits means you are better at economics/government? In that case let's all go back to doffing our caps and curtseying to the aristocracy, who must have known what was best for us all along, and weren't the money grabbing, thieving, exploiting b-----ds we took them for. Why can't people recognise someone who hasn't been made over by the spin doctors? Does no-one remember how Mrs Thatcher was transformed? I'd rather have an honest vest than a deceitful suit.

trisher Sat 29-Aug-15 11:27:08

Just found my profile page-never knew it was there- hey-ho!!!
