Morning folks! Today I'm off on a moss hunt with people who know stuff. Wellies and waterproofs are advised.

Anya Sun 16-Aug-15 07:11:40

Is it the moss hunting season again? Sort of the Glorious 12th 16th?

ninathenana Sun 16-Aug-15 07:20:36

Morning all.

Cloudy with blue patches here in N Kent
I got up at 4am as I couldn't sleep I'm now knackered.
Summer carnival here yesterday with large firework display visible from our garden smile

Morning everyone. Seem to have lost our Somerset sunshine for now. Low cloud but hope of brightness later. No plans for today other than the ironing. Lucky me.

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Aug-15 07:57:17

Morning All

The sky here is covered by thin cloud with signs that that the sun may break through. Gardening planned. As to whether it happens is another matter.

DH is still slumbering, I fear he may have had a bad night. Is it awful that I no longer wake or notice if his back/hip/knees keeps him awake and he prowls the house?

Have a good Sunday Everyone.

kittylester Sun 16-Aug-15 08:00:50

Good morning all from north Leicestershire!

I'm still in bed but DH has kindly raised the blind and I can see lovely blue skies with some high cloud. A shame really as I have two understairs cupboards to sort out!

Enjoy your days everyone! sunshine

Bellasnana Sun 16-Aug-15 08:01:33

Good morning everyone. It is cloudy here in Thanet at the moment.

I was rudely awakened, far too early, by the seagulls! Noisy blighters grin

Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday sunshine flowers

sad thatbags Don't approve of blood sports.

Good, if slightly autumnal, morning all!

PRINTMISS Sun 16-Aug-15 08:10:14

Good morning to you all, a rather autumnal start to the day, and I do not like that, too early, however, the sun is shining and perhaps it will be a little warmer later on. thatbags if you want moss, we have plenty on our garage roof, and the blackbirds love sorting it out. Played bowls in one of the club competitions yesterday, and our team won! A small bottle of wine for the other half, as I do not drink. Lovely afternoon with good friends.
Enjoy your days.

nannotgran Sun 16-Aug-15 08:20:47

Nice start to the day in north essex this morning and i think it is set for the day
man didn't turn up to paint my shed yesterday . It's a nightmare to get a handy man in this area

hildajenniJ Sun 16-Aug-15 08:20:56

Good morning everyone.
Beautiful sunny morning in Tynedale. We had a lovely day yesterday, two in a row, marvellous if it lasts. Washing to do today, and a little vacuuming. Tomorrow is my big day for the housework.

thatbags Sun 16-Aug-15 08:28:48

anya, alea, chortle.

thatbags Sun 16-Aug-15 08:30:15

Not collecting any moss, printmiss. I have plenty at home — 56 species and counting in my garden. We are just going to look for a rare moss that was recorded some years ago in the place (a bog) we're going to look.

PRINTMISS Sun 16-Aug-15 08:41:58

Pity that, that thought perhaps you might come and clean the garage roof for me! Enjoy your moss hunting, sounds great, and interesting, must take a closer look at all the moss we have around us.

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Aug-15 08:44:03

A few weeks back we went to look at a rare (for UK) orchid. I did wonder how rare it really is as it's pale green, grows in marshy grass and is very small! Enjoy your day!

Pittcity Sun 16-Aug-15 09:22:25

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Forecast says cloudy but I can't see any out of our front window. So much better now the oppressive humidity has gone!
We are going to be attacking the NOT rare moss in our lawn today.

Indinana Sun 16-Aug-15 09:28:12

Morning everyone. It's a beautiful sunny morning here in the SW. Nothing much planned, though DS and DGSs have said they'll be popping round at some point. Better batten down the hatches - DGS2 is a whirlwind of 2 year old mayhem grin

daffydil Sun 16-Aug-15 09:29:32

Good morning everyone.
Lovely day here in mid Essex for our 57th wedding anniversary. Yesterday was the wedding anniversary pf DS and DDIL, and 20th birthday of DGS. so they and DGD and great grandson came round which was great.
Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

Bellanonna Sun 16-Aug-15 09:51:05

Yes ditto to Daffydill. You must have married very young ?
Thatbags, would love to join you on your foray. I've been out with moss and lichen experts too - forget what they're called - and it was fascinating looking at them through a lens (the mosses I mean grin.)
Bellasnana, didn't realise you were still in Kent. Weather not bad here. It would be really hot in Malta now. Lovely day to everyone smile

Bellanonna Sun 16-Aug-15 09:51:51

annsixty Sun 16-Aug-15 09:55:33
