One of our cats used to bring in elastic bands the postman had dropped and "look after" them in her basket. We knew she'd got another one when we heard her mewing as she came through the catflap.

I once visited an elderly lady who lived in the faded grandeur of what had once been a splendid country house. Bits of plaster cornicing were falling off and the whole place had a musty, unlived in smell. She took me on a tour of the house and in a small, dank room with mould on the ceiling was a collection of porcelain dolls-40 or 50 of them, all dressed in Victorian costume now spotted with mould. It was very creepy as all these blank, blue eyes stared at me. All a bit Miss Havisham. Shudder!

jingle, looking back to your post I see you think dildos are not disturbing. I find that unacceptable, dildos and suchlike are not natural and tome disgusting. If someone cant get real sex then they should do without. Im horrified.

I was never interested in dolls as a child, although I had a jointed soft, ?rubber skinned one. She spent a lot of her time in the doll's hospital, as my brother was cruel to her.

I saw that programme a while ago and also thought them creepy. I felt sad for the owners.

DD1's grown up god daughter still cherishes the rag doll I made for her at age about 4, when she was her bridesmaid. I copied her hair style and dressed her in a replica bridesmaid dress made from scraps of left over fabric. She was much admired.

Jane Im not disapproving in general I couldn't care less what people do in the privacy of their own homes but I don't like talk about 'dildos' etc on this site, I thought we were all reasonably respectable (or trying to be).
