I was never interested in dolls as a child, although I had a jointed soft, ?rubber skinned one. She spent a lot of her time in the doll's hospital, as my brother was cruel to her.

I saw that programme a while ago and also thought them creepy. I felt sad for the owners.

DD1's grown up god daughter still cherishes the rag doll I made for her at age about 4, when she was her bridesmaid. I copied her hair style and dressed her in a replica bridesmaid dress made from scraps of left over fabric. She was much admired.

jingle, looking back to your post I see you think dildos are not disturbing. I find that unacceptable, dildos and suchlike are not natural and tome disgusting. If someone cant get real sex then they should do without. Im horrified.

I once visited an elderly lady who lived in the faded grandeur of what had once been a splendid country house. Bits of plaster cornicing were falling off and the whole place had a musty, unlived in smell. She took me on a tour of the house and in a small, dank room with mould on the ceiling was a collection of porcelain dolls-40 or 50 of them, all dressed in Victorian costume now spotted with mould. Very interesting auntbett. What a sensible kind ward sister. I knew several elderly learning disabled ladies who all happily carried their plastic 'babies' around with them. I've had 2 cats now (both females but neutered) who carried around kitten substitutes. They were kind and caring as they carried their, in one case old glove, and in the other a tiny toy mouse, to the food bowl, litter tray etc and cleaned them carefully. Its a girl thing!
