Wow Galen it looks fantastic. So glad Bella is joining you. I am sure it will do you both a world of good. How lovely to be able to relax sitting outside in your private balcony, sipping a large glass of something exotic .....plenty of free time for you to crochet pompa's mankini! Just back from a few days in Dundee to celebrate youngest sister's 70th with a family picnic on Sunday - both sisters' DC plus OHs and delightful GC were present. A great time was had by all and yesterday adults had a boozy lunch in a restaurant in Broughty Ferry. One day, while our NZ sister had lunch with old Uni friends, other sister and I went out to lunch in Fife - your territory, Charley, I think; ate at a restaurant attached to a fruit farm and had a brew in the lovely village of Ceres. I do love Fife - lots of happy memories of childhood holidays at Granny's. We drove along the West Sands at St Andrews where preparations for the Open are well advanced - acres of marquees! It was very windy and at high tide, when the white-caps reached the beach, a big arc of spume was blown back into the sea - spectacular, and I wish I'd had the presence of mind to take a video.

Crafting what colours do you suggest?
And can you obtain the appropriate measurements?
I REALLY NEED THE POUCH ONES and of course the pouch to shoulder measurements!

Galan, there are so many variables, is it to fit wet or dry ? and what is the water temperature, that could make a lot of difference re pouch size.

My parents lived just outside Ceres, Anno, in a little farm cottage. I've a good idea where the fruit farm is, too. Charleygirl and I went to the same school, though at different times. Like you, I love Fife.

It is such a small world. My dad was born and lived in Ceres for a few years. I trained in Dundee, sharing a flat 2 doors away from M&S in the main street whose name escapes me. My parents lived on the outskirts of Cupar then, near the railway staion.

The years I shared that flat, I never entered M&S even once because I could not afford either the food or the clothes. I am still in contact with one of the flat sharers- she lives in Falkirk now.

Would that be the Wellgate, Charley? Cupar railway station now also has a small and very good museum, run by volunteers. South Road runs out of Cupar and joins the rsilway bridge. Perhaps your parents lived in that part?

I spent my first two years of teaching at Dundee High School 1963 - 65 and now I'm completely lost in the city. I used to meet up with one of my housemates and her colleagues from DC Thompson, for lunch in Draffens. There have been so many changes in street layouts and things are still going on. A university friend came from Dairsie and I attended her wedding there. Bell Baxter School, anyone?

I'll crochet a pouch one inch by by one inch with six foot straps to accommodate the abdominal six pack .
It'll be in a pretty fluorescent pink and lime green pattern.
Will that suit? Fit?

I attended Bell Baxter, anno. One of my old teachers lived in Dairsie in the 60's, and DH's lifelong friend lives there now, too.

Shetland sheep wool? It's bred tough to resist water.

pompa that photo is almost x certificate. This is a refeened (refined) forum- the photo is definitely not for me.

I went to Castlehil school as a youngster and then Bell Baxter for a year. My parent's house at the rear overlooked the cemetry. No problem there- we did not have to relax in the garden when there was a funeral on- there were other spots because there was a bit of land.

I remember the name Wellgate but cannot remember where it is.

I trained at DRI and was there 1964-1968 and then I moved to London for a year, it has been a long year!

If it was Galen's knitted on, it certainly would be X cert.
