how about a new and happy thread, for the good bits in our lives.

So today I smiled because the first redstarts appeared in the garden and a gaggle fo noisy fieldfares.

I smiled today because I love my life.

ginny Wed 18-Mar-15 08:51:27

I smiled today because the local robin was waiting for his breakfast when I opened the curtains.

annodomini Wed 18-Mar-15 09:41:55

'My' robin raised a smile when I saw him perched on the bird feeder, something he doesn't often deign to do.

I smiled this morning because the sun was shining and I really enjoyed my early morning walk. Good bye to the winter blues. smile

J52 Wed 18-Mar-15 14:23:52

I smiled today because DS2 has just taken me to lunch at a garden centre and the sun was shining! x

Wistow?

dustyangel Wed 18-Mar-15 14:27:59

I smiled today when I noticed new leaves on all the fig trees. They seem to have come out overnight.

J52 Wed 18-Mar-15 14:28:56

Spot on, Granjura! x

I smiled when I saw the French windows of the house next door open and heard the voices of two playful little girls in the garden. I hope to hear much more of it in the months to come.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 18-Mar-15 15:40:59

I smiled today when I was dozing off in the garden and a Great Tit started making that helluva racket that only a Great Tit can make. The two-toned repetitive one. grin

granjura Wed 18-Mar-15 15:49:20

I smiled because you smiled kitty- it's a lovely place isn't it?

loopylou Wed 18-Mar-15 16:15:00

I smiled because my tubs are full of beautiful bulbs and plants I'd forgotten I'd planted as well, as very buzzy bumble bees zipping around the garden (just rescued one in the greenhouse too) grin

CeeCee Wed 18-Mar-15 21:46:37

I smiled today when DH bought me an iced bun with sprinkles on smile

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 18-Mar-15 22:05:01

Oh! I would have smiled at that!

NanKate Thu 19-Mar-15 07:43:52

I smiled when my 4 year old grandson said to his mum 'Are you going to lay any more babies mummy ?' smile

janeainsworth Thu 19-Mar-15 09:00:04

I've just smiled because my kitchen scissors which went AWOL 3 days ago have magically appeared on the draining board in the utility room.
<Prime suspect MrA>

kittylester Thu 19-Mar-15 09:11:34

Could you check that my 'hairdressing scissors' aren't there as well JaneA. I use them every few days to cut the _one* white hair on my chin and they are missing too. DH denies all knowledge!!

I smiled because DGD3 is coming to Sainsbury's with me! Now, I wonder, will I be smiling when we get back as she is delightful, mostly, and very strong willed, all the time. smile

Nelliemoser Thu 19-Mar-15 09:20:33

Because I walked into my living room and saw my two pots of daffodils shining yellow. All this loveliness at £1 a bunch. flowers

ginny Thu 19-Mar-15 11:50:18

I smiled today because I am pleased with the ring cushion I have just made for DD3.

janeainsworth Thu 19-Mar-15 11:59:30

kitty I'll keep my eyes open grin
nellie Yes I have one of those £1 bunches in the porch and another in the dining table. They lift the spirits, don't they?

I couldn't find my loyal constant companion but when I looked out of the back door she was sitting down on the garden seat sunning herself. What a clever puppy!

janerowena Fri 20-Mar-15 10:38:51

Sun? What's that? But never mind, I am smiling today smile because DS is coming back for the weekend. Even though he will be glued to the computer he will be making (possibly literally) it will be lovely to see him. I shall go outside in a minute and pick a huge bunch of daffodils to celebrate. flowers

It's his birthday next week, so I am also celebrating not having to haul all his presents and cards to the post office!

ginny Fri 20-Mar-15 12:04:39

I smiled today because the daffodils in my garden look so pretty.
