I chose mrsmopp because i have a mop of thick, naturally curly hair which has a will of its own.
Not because my occupation was a cleaning lady, as in: "Can I do you now, sir?" That wasn't me!

Oh dear, I used to be silverfish as I have a phobia about the little s....s, I share my house with them in warmer weather, however I felt that this was a not so nice name and changed it to etheltbags. I like the name ethel it conjured up a comedy figure, I also like drinking tea so I added tbags to make ehteltbags. Also prior to silverfish I was cactus, I think I was a bit outspoken and used to wind people up so I left for a while to come back as silverfish. None of these names reflect my real name, although my DD would suggest I name myself as 'oldbag' or 'oldgrot' etc.
Love her really.

Nansypansy Sat 03-Jan-15 04:16:05

When my first GD came along, my daughter asked me what I would like to be called. Off the top of my head, possibly regrettably, I said 'Nansy' thinking that when my GC become teenagers that the shortened 'Nans' would be sort of trendy. That didn't happen so I am 'Nansy' to all five, but my second GD added pansy as she rather liked rhyming - so I am Nansypansy (and she is Anaspanner).

My first username, which I changed after two weeks, was simply and unimaginatively, my name spelt backwords. I changed it to baublesbanglesandbrightshinybeads as that was a Frank Sinatra song which I had loved as a child. Much too long so I shortened it within a short space of time.

For each change I had to de register and rejoin. I have to say I don't understand the rule about not allowing name changes. Mumsnetters seem to do it at the drop of a hat.

Mine's self-explanatory really - I am vertically challenged (in fact, I'm pretty challenged in all dimensions!) and quiet (my daughter called me a quiet rebel years ago, but now I'm more vocal in my rebelling grin )
