Bella The weather wouldn't dare put on a bad show for Galen...she can be very persuasive.
I hope that you have a happy few hours together.
Good Morning Thursday 30th July 2026
Slainte to all my Granspals. Settle down and relax. The bubbly is nicely chilled.
Bella The weather wouldn't dare put on a bad show for Galen...she can be very persuasive.
I hope that you have a happy few hours together.
Promise a photograph of the two of you together, please, Bellasnana.
Have a lovely day together tomorrow, Bella and Galen. Hope the sunshines, the
flows and you manage to eat loads of [cupcakes]. you both deserve a good time!
Have a lovely day together Bella and Galen. How exciting that you are both meeting up but don't let that Galen one lead you astray Bella Enjoy
Hope you have a lovely day, Bellasnana and Galen
Wish we were all there!!
Alie I haven't found any Scottish blood yet on my side, although I discovered that DH has Scottish ancestors from the 1700s!
Yes, I feel excited for Galen and Bellasnana
I'm sure they'll have a very chatty time
I'm going to see my dd's new house tomorrow with my best buddy. The car is already loaded up with donations from my circle of wonderful friends, and me of course!
I'm a bit wound up about finding it, but the lovely Tim Satnav will look after us I hope!
Once I've been and seen it, and dd, maybe I'll be a bit less anxious.
Palpitations are driving me mad at the moment.
Pretty please for a photo Bella
Lona It is natural for you to feel anxious. Your family have had a lot to deal with and you deserve to return home feeling reassured. Please drive carefully and let us know all about your visit. I know that us lot are a wee bit nosy...'though speaking for myself, I'm not in the least bit inquisitive.
rose I'm envious of your husband's Scottish roots. Lucky him! Our only claim is to keep banging on about Rory's royal lineage.
anno I'm willing to bet that Galen will make a fuss about having her photograph taken. Will you please remind her that for us lot a photo for the Granspal album is a duty that we trust she'll grimace grin for.
It's ironing for pal day tomorrow. Also, I'm told, there will be the silver to clean. I'm agog with excitement.
Sorry anno the message re the photo should have been addressed to Bella
again!
Rose, I can give you some of mine if you don't find any...........but it will cost you
Try to relax Lona. This is a positive step for your DD and her girls. I'm sure with her Mum's help, your DD will make their new house their 'home' in no time. Once the girls have some involvement in 'decorating' their bedroom, the rest, in time, will fall into place.
for your DD along with my best wishes for a happy and peaceful future for the three of them.
Best wishes from me too Lona.
How very strange that your satnav is called Tim - ours is 'Naggy Aggie'
anno soop
- I was going to do the little Scottish fellow in the tam-o-shanter but he's disappeared. DH's ancestors did wander a bit (must have been all that whisky); he was very surprised when I found them.
Lona hope all goes well and your DD settles in well. When you hear Tim Satnav keep saying 'At the next opportunity do a U turn' you'll know you've gone wrong. Take a map as well! and run off AA Routeplanner. Belt, braces and all.
My first Christmas on GN and I'm so excited .....the emoticons have arrived. I can't resist, sorry
Bella and Galen hope you have a great time together.
Lona have a lovely day with your DD and let us know what the new house is like.
We call our satnav "she who must be obeyed"!!
Soop please can I have a little Christmas tree in the corner of the kitchen. I promise to clear up all the mess...just a small tree...with some lights...and a fairy on top..a few baubles..some tinsel....some chocolate santas wrapped in foil...
Thanks for all your good wishes, I've had a bad night though. My heart was pounding so much that I couldn't get off to sleep for what seemed like hours, and then I tossed and turned such a lot.
It's getting worse and although I know it's anxiety, it's getting me worried now. I'm a rare visitor to the docs but I've never been like this before.
I feel quite on the edge.
I'll let you know how I get on later.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night, Lona. Like you, I rarely go to the doctor but please do go. I have been so much better since taking anti-anxiety medication and could kick myself for not going sooner. Perhaps you should give it a try. Anyway, hope all goes well today
Well, today's the day! Galen's ship has arrived and have just received a message from her saying she will be off the ship in 25 mins so we had better get a move on
See you later.
Lona please go to the go and let us know how you get on!
Can't wait to hear how Bella and Galen get on!
Naggy Aggie just tells us to do an immediate u-turn and also to access a registered road. She's really bossy!! DD3's is much more polite and adds a please to her instructions!
Lona, you need something to calm you down and help you to get a decent night's sleep - a good slug of brandy? The palpitations should be reported to your GP. I hope it all goes off well today and that you will be well and truly reassured.
On totally unfamiliar territory in Liverpool, my satnav kept telling me to turn round - on a road that repeatedly told me 'no U-turns'. I finally found the Mersey tunnel without its assistance.
I hope that you have a lovely time with Galen, Bellasnana and the weather is better there than here, where it is wet and cold.
Galen and bellasnana - wow, that's some meetup! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Lona - I sympathise with the pre-journey nerves, but somehow we always get there in the end, don't we? I use the sat nav, the road atlas and the printouts from both aa and rac route planners, what you might call the belt and braces approach.
I've been visiting DD and my totally adorable 6 month old GD. I was a bit worried as to how I'd cope with eating with my new dentures, but as GD is now starting to attack solid food with gusto, we were about at the same level!
Off to do some Christmas shopping today as on Thursday I am going to Cambridge for a few days to help a friend whose DH is recovering from surgery and I have suddenly realised that Christmas is now galloping towards us.
Leaving shortly with TomTom, map books and phone satnav, plus bossy friend!
Roll on bedtime!
Well, here we are together in Bella's gorgeous house. It's lovely meeting her, she and her husband are lovely. They have a cake made by her daughter for me ANC we are drinking prosecco!
Can someone ask gnhq is this the first international meeting?
Oh how lovely. Can you post a picture? Cheers!
Sahha.
Well, it is really wonderful to have our dear Galen here. A truly red-letter day. Have put a photo on but it won't let me put more than one. Grrrr! About time tech sorted it out
Wow! What a lovely picture - do you live in a castle Bella? And that fizz looks good and the other goodies
Lovely picture of the pair of you. Have a good time.
