I thought that we had already reached the 1000 messages. Maybe we haven't. Anyway...for when we do, here's the new extension. I'm making it warm and cosy and there are date slices to be enjoyed. Rory has claimed his corner of the sofa. wink

Lona Tue 03-Dec-13 08:06:09

Morning soop, Some sunshine for you and I hope today is the turning point and you feel better.
We are really missing you and Rory, he must be keeping you (or John) company as we've not seen hide nor hair of him!

Grandmanorm Tue 03-Dec-13 09:21:33

flowers to brighten this dreich day. I hope you feel better soon.

kittylester Tue 03-Dec-13 09:40:40

soop - hope you feel much better very soon. flowers

soutra hope you are gowned and masked up. If it's what 2 of ours had it lasted quite a while and spread like wildfire. Thought that would cheer you up grin I was no use to DD either as I daren't risk taking it with me on visits to Mum. I'm making up for it this week by doing the washing though.

I hope everyone else is feeling better. Shall I make some tea and toast? brew

annodomini Tue 03-Dec-13 10:11:01

soutra, be very careful. I got that sort of bug from DGS3 who had ostensibly recovered but obviously was still carrying the virus.

soop gentle ((((hugs))))

dustyangel Tue 03-Dec-13 10:18:29

Tea and toast sound lovely Kitty, fruit and yoghurt don't seem to fill you up as well on winter mornings.

I just popped in to see if soop is feeling a little better yet, I do hope so. flowers and some more sunshine for her.

celebgran Tue 03-Dec-13 11:04:34

I have just made Soop some nourishing "yellow soup" (aka yellow split pea soup.)
On the freezer bag I found I had by mistake or by habit, written Yellow "Soop." I do hope you are not yellow soop!
Enjoy this, stick some bacon into as well if you like.
I have left it in the freezer for you.

Latest news from soop (last night) is that the doc visited again and has said she has the flu virus. She's just to take the latest medicine. Still feeling really grotty sad.

She's missing all her pals in The Kitchen.

Granny23 Wed 04-Dec-13 11:16:21

tchsad Poor wee Soop. Your extension must be overflowing with flowers, so sending sunshine - we have it here in abundance today.

Soutra Wed 04-Dec-13 13:21:19

Best wishes to soop - the word "flu" doesn't do it justice does it? We talk about "man-flu" and so many young people moan they have the flu when all they have is a bad cold. But real flu can be deadly and you feel so rotten you actually feel it is. DGS seemed much better by the end of yesterday, no more sickness just the other end now (!) but much happier and actually contemplating food. Lovely excuse to cuddle up on the sofa under a blanket and watch their favourite DVDs. (DD isn't too keen on them watching TV) Little bro might be getting more teeth as he was also a bit fractious and had them up in the night, but no sickness or diarrhoea - just the usual "teething" noxious nappies!! DD has a nanny 3 days a week and she is back with them today so the boys should both be over whatever by the next nursery day on Friday.
DH was glad to have me back smile as he hasn't felt good since his op and is losing confidence about being on his own overnight. Not helped by a discombobulating power cut either.
Hair raising drive back down the motorway in the dark, I really don't mind, motorways even at night, better than trying to find my way in the dark but had had to stop at Corley to go to the loo and trying to get back on was a) scary and b) well nigh impossible. I had difficulty spotting a gap in the inside lane when all I could see was approaching headlights (3 lanes, mostly) and just as I was about to pull out a massive Post Office lorry swooshed past me a full throttle. I was just angry at the time, but it came back to me later and it was not a nice feeling.tchshock

No doctors appt available today but going tomorrow anyway. Poor soop expect will tell me the same! Viral things don't respond to antibiotics.. Was scared coughed up some blood today.

Let's hope we both better soon and any other grans under weather

ffinnochio Wed 04-Dec-13 15:55:06

soop - I wish these flowers were real. x

Oldgreymare Thu 05-Dec-13 10:14:38

Celebgran good luck at the Doc's (surgery implied hence use of apostrophe!)
Soop hope you're feeling a little perkier today xx

Galen Thu 05-Dec-13 10:33:04

flowers to all the invalids

annodomini Thu 05-Dec-13 10:47:26

I'm wondering how the soops are weathering this storm. Kintyre is open to all the winds that blow. But cosy here in the kitchen, of course. Kettle on now.

thatbags Thu 05-Dec-13 12:31:25

I've just spoken to mrsoop on the phone. They have no power and the mobile phones aren't working but the landline is OK and they have a woodburning stove and a gaz ring. soop was about to get up and try to eat something when I rang. The antibiotics are taking their time still but the soops trust them to do their stuff anon. Keep zapping the get well vibes through the ether soopygranpals!

For the soops flowers

Nelliemoser Thu 05-Dec-13 12:40:11

Thanks for the update thatbags. It's hardly a surprise the power is off up there. It just at the wrong time when you are poorly and need to keep warm. Do they have some means of heating? Love to soop
