I thought that we had already reached the 1000 messages. Maybe we haven't. Anyway...for when we do, here's the new extension. I'm making it warm and cosy and there are date slices to be enjoyed. Rory has claimed his corner of the sofa. wink

Soutra Thu 05-Dec-13 13:02:46

Oh poor soops thank goodness for woodburners and alternative means of cooking/making hot drinks. Lots of healing vibes winging their way from here - despite a vicious head wind flowers

ffinnochio Thu 05-Dec-13 13:13:27

Good to receive the update.

thatbags Thu 05-Dec-13 13:35:58

soop has just phoned me and between coughing fits sad she said the doc thinks it must be a viral infection she has but apparently she is getting enough oxygen.

I passed on the good wishes from you all. She says she's missing the Kitchen a lot and thanks you all.

She sounds very poorly sad

Lona Thu 05-Dec-13 13:49:49

janeainsworth Thu 05-Dec-13 14:50:32

Thinking of you Soop. Glad you have MrSoop to look after you.

Elegran Thu 05-Dec-13 15:27:06

Better not to mix the antibiotics and the toddy, though, Soop Maybe keep the toddies for when you are convalescing. Keep warm and cuddle that cat (or Mr S)

numberplease Thu 05-Dec-13 16:09:45

Best wishes to the Soops (and Rory, but then he IS a Soop now!)

Marelli Thu 05-Dec-13 16:45:18

Bags - give the soop family our love when you speak to them again? I was wondering how she was as I'd pm'd her and got no response. The wind will be howling around that 'wee hoose' just now.

Nonu Thu 05-Dec-13 17:19:25

my message basically is the same as Marelli

Soutra Thu 05-Dec-13 17:25:50

How are you thatbags and the others in Scotland in the high winds we are hearing about?
Keep safe won't you! tchsmile

Ariadne Thu 05-Dec-13 18:19:23

Much love to the soops please, bags - hope she will son be feeling better. Have you lost any more trees? The wind is howling up the coast here.

celebgran Thu 05-Dec-13 18:51:06

Thanks old greymare saw lovely doctor but viral infection no treatment!
Oh well he was so kind pressure high but he felt bad time got heart scan on 19th. Go back after then he was so helpful

thatbags Thu 05-Dec-13 19:32:23

I will certainly pass on all your kind wishes to the soops and I know they are much appreciated.

ariadne, the wind does not seem quite so strong but it is snowing lightly now. I expect the hills will be white in the morning, if we can see them, even if the garden isn't. The worst of thes torm must be over Germany by now I think.

I hope everyone else is nice and snug. soop's kitchen is a good place to be.

Icyalittle Thu 05-Dec-13 22:24:04

I'm worried about all you lovely Grans in Scotland and elsewhere in the fearsome weather. Do keep safe and look after yourselves. And I hope soop is better soon and back with the power. It's so quiet without her.

annodomini Thu 05-Dec-13 22:56:34

I'm looking at the North West News which is reporting a big tidal surge at New Brighton in Wirral which I think is where glamma lives. Are you there and OK, glamma. And a picture of a tree that had fallen on a car right here in Poynton.
Hope you have electricity back, soop.

kittylester Fri 06-Dec-13 07:36:32

I've just popped in with some flasks of hot chocolate with a little added extra grin

I hope everyone has been unaffected by the weather and that all the soops are well. I'll put some porridge on, shall I? sunshine

Grannyeggs Fri 06-Dec-13 08:30:09

soop I am so glad your kitchen is still going strong. I haven't been around for a while ,but may I come in and have some of Kitty's porridge? It's so warm and welcoming here.cupcake

Oldgreymare Fri 06-Dec-13 09:03:25

Thanks Kitty having mine with honey.
Will leave some honey for Soop to add to her hot toddies for when she's feeling up to it.

Ariadne Fri 06-Dec-13 09:38:13

Oh, thank you, Kitty that really hits the spot! Off to Cheltenham soon for a fleeting visit to DS and family, while Theseus is at Rotary HQ in Alcester. Got to be back for lunch party on Sunday, though. Such a social whirl! Love to dear soop again, and a (hug) to them both.

thatbags Fri 06-Dec-13 09:44:06

Argyll & Bute Council is tweeting that various schools, including those on Kintyre, will be closed today because they have no power, so I suspect the soops may still be without it too. Yesterday nearly half of Argyll schools were closed or closed early.

Welcome back, grannyeggs smile

Soutra Fri 06-Dec-13 18:12:50

Just popped in to see how everybody is and sorry to hear not a lot of improvement, but that might be compounded by lack of power and as yet no one has invented the wood-burning computer or iPad (now there's a thought.....hmm)
Wishing well to poorly grans, wind-swept grans, flooded grans (hope none of those) and busy grans - so that covers about everybody! Keep warm, keep safe, keep topped up with a dram/ brewbrew/ gingerbread/ shortbread/ porridge/ cupcakecupcake as and when necessary

Soutra Sat 07-Dec-13 13:04:31

Just me again - where is everybody? I hope you are not poorly flowers or shopping tchshock ? Maybe it is a hint that I should be doing something more productive than catching up with my friends wasting time on my laptop tchsmile
