written out a jobs list with the title, "This you will bloody well do today". Without the crossing-outs.

I am getting far too good at ignoring jobs lists.

I hope it works. hmm

It would take me all day to write out the jobs list - so it would be the same result - no jobs done.

If it works, let us know Jingle. My list of jobs not done won't fit on one page! I'm avoiding them like the plague. So far today, I have got up and dressed, fed the dog and taken her for a walk, had breakfast and emailed a few people, then settled down to read the online papers and Gransnet. Everything has come to a stop. I usually 'earn' some time relaxing by getting jobs done and then sitting down for a cup of tea and a look at the internet, but the percentages of time online and time doing jobs have changed radically! Must have a talk with myself grin

In fact, I am getting up now to wash the remainder of the dishes and clean the kitchen worktops (back in a bit!) grin

I'm not a great list maker jingl but I realise that is why not everything gets done when it should. I'm always "turning over a new leaf" and making them then I lose them or can't read them. However inspired by you I am going to be a new me and start again.smile

Item 1 on any "to do" list ss always "Make list". That way I get to tick one thing off at least.

glassortwo Wed 02-May-12 11:13:55

jingle my list these days usually take this pattern ......shake yourself today and get something done grin leaving the list open to interpretation grin

Jacey Wed 02-May-12 11:33:55

Agree whenim64 ...it is 'fatal' coming on here befre I've done any jobs grin
I just don't know where the time goes shock

By the way ...when is your 64th?? Don't want to miss wishing you a 'happy birthday' sunshine

whenim64 Wed 02-May-12 11:43:36

Jingle thanks, you spurred me on and I've just finished cleaning the kitchen - dishes done and put away, the sink is gleaming white and all the worktops and cupboard doors are pristine. I've prepped a load of vegetables and put them on with steak mince to make a great big ragu to divide up for a few different dishes - it's bubbling gently on the hob. I've done the recycling and made a cup of tea - all in 3/4 hour. (Note to self - see! wasn't that difficult, was it?'

Hi Jacey I'm 64 on 11 June. I was too shy to say last year (what? I hear you say, since when were you shy?) as we had only just got going on Gransnet. Perhaps you would all like to come for morning coffee that day and I'll make a coffee and walnut cake. smile

Jacey Wed 02-May-12 11:45:30

Yes please whenim64 ...add to list of jobs 'must write into diary'!! grin

whenim64 Wed 02-May-12 11:45:30

Anagram Wed 02-May-12 11:50:31

Will you have to change your name then, when? wink

whenim64 Wed 02-May-12 12:09:26

Noooo....can't be bothered - I'll just stay 64 for the rest of my life! grin

imjingl Wed 02-May-12 12:14:04

I nipped out and got my hair cut. (not on the list)

Don't feel quite so enthusiastic now Will press on anyway!

imjingl Wed 02-May-12 12:15:03

Anagram Wed 02-May-12 12:18:23

nanachrissy Wed 02-May-12 12:23:51

When mine is on the 13th so maybe we could have a joint rave up? I however won't be 64, I'll be 66 a tad older wink

glammanana Wed 02-May-12 12:31:32

I decided 2 years ago to stay 60ish thanks for the invite when I am very fond of walnut cake, well any cake if I was truthful.grin

whenim64 Wed 02-May-12 12:46:55

nanachrissy let's share our birthday celebration, then, and we can both claim we are still in our late fifties!! grin

Greatnan Wed 02-May-12 13:24:38

Mmmm - coffee and walnut cake, the only cake I like. I had lots of it in NZ at Christmas as my daughter had a glut of walnuts.
I have watched The Wright Stuff, had a one hour walk and made my lunch.
No household chores to do, so I will spend the rest of the day reading, surfing and watching TV. It's a hard life, but I don't weaken!

Anagram Wed 02-May-12 13:31:59

What a trouper! wink

Ariadne Wed 02-May-12 13:50:03

Will be over for the party, but will need to be reminded....smile

whenim64 Wed 02-May-12 14:03:05

We won't miss you out Ariadne. We'll put something up to ensure no-one can escape mises out grin

whenim64 Wed 02-May-12 14:03:54

....or even misses out!

nanachrissy Wed 02-May-12 16:41:43

Maybe,we should have a zodiac party every month? That way no one would be left out or have to reveal their real age, just their virtual age! grin

Mishap Wed 02-May-12 17:14:01

I very virtuously cleaned out the fridge and the freezer and also the larder and another food cupboard! - quite a feat since none of these have been done for about a year!!!

It is obviously very bad for me, as I am now laid up with bad cold and laryngitis - cannot make myself heard at all.

I will resolve never to do such mad things again!
