Sounds like a lovely day for you, carol. There won't be any time for daft stuff like housework.
1st of July on Wednesday, So......
Burnham: Is the Media Tempting Fate by Jumping the Gun?
Where is everyone? I know I'm not the only insomniac; been awake since 3.00 and I'm now bored....
Sounds like a lovely day for you, carol. There won't be any time for daft stuff like housework.
Good morning all - what a gorgeously frosty one it is! Gally, hope all goes well for you and DH at the hospital, (and that your DH gets encouraging reports on his progress).
Carol the housework will wait - and it doesn't matter anyway! You'll have a lovely day seeing them all. And that wee 10 minutes is so precious. It's a thing the little boy will look forward to, as well.
Supernana - warm wishes for today.

Good luck Gally and Mr Gally. What a remarkable coincidence, getting your appointments at the same time.
This morning, I am messing about and not getting on with things. After the last two weeks of dizziness, the house is a tip and the worse it gets the less I feel inclined to tackle it. I also need to visit the actual tip with the remains of my ex-food processor and order book group books from the library... and... and...
Gally Nd Mr. G good luck for today
Annobel I am the same today, have come on here to avoid everthing, boring stuff to do today, house paperwork 'phone calls et; I wonder how log I can stay on here and prevaricate.
Hope all goes well for you today Mr and Mrs Gally. Annobel just do one or two tasks and IOU the rest - they'll diminish before you know it.
Sounds like a very special day Carol.

Gally, I hope all goes well for you today.
Am very inclined to take your advice,*Carol*!
Why didn't the 'bolding' work in that post?
asterisk too near the comma. Try a space.
Did I see a JINGLE on my screen? Is she ok? Where's she been? I'm sitting here while they are trying to get my computers to shake hands with each other! Sociable lot computers ain't they
Gally.... I'd be interested to hear how you got on re tinnitus. I cannot remember not having it, thought it was the new T.V. giving off a strange sound when I was a child!
Recently the 'noise' has got louder, but it does vary and sometimes 'screams'! Mostly I can ignore it, thank goodness, altho I can hear it now!
We visited Beethoven's birthplace/museum in Bonn recently accompanied by a commentary heard thro earphones. At one point in the narrative they played the sound that he would have heard as his deafness progressed. It was exactly the sound I hear most of the time. Luckily, I don't seem to be losing my hearing.
The G.P. (locum) I saw most recently said there is nothing that can be done about it! I did meet a lovely lady on the trip who told me that there has been much progress made in recognition and treatment. I must Google again.
OGM I have had a ringing sound in my rt. ear since I was 26 and over the years I have learned to live with it. although from time to time it does get on top of me. Last year another sound appeared - a boom-boom which is the sound of my pulse and b...y annoying it is too! The consultant I saw yesterday says the bone in the skull/ear gradually thins with age and the noise I can hear is probably from the carotid artery which passes very close to the ear canal; says if it is that, then there is nothing to be done - apart from getting used to it - again. I am to have an MRI scan to discount a burst blood vessel in the head which could have the same effect, but he is pretty sure it isn't that. You have my sympathy as does anyone who suffers with this 'silent' complaint; I think it just becomes mind over matter, although when tired, stressed, over indulged in alcohol or suffering a cold, it gets worse. Night time is bad as there's no external noise (apart from MrG's snoring!!), especially if I can't get to sleep easily. Luckily, my hearing seems to be ok 'for my age'
I have a 'buzz', sometimes a whistle or occasionally a 'beep', on the right side. the pitch and volume varies from almost nil to downright intrusive. I keep the radio on when I'm going to sleep, programmed to switch off on its own. I have very bad earache in that ear if I go out in a wind with it unprotected and it has been suggested that I might have a punctured eardrum, though I can't be bothered having it checked out. I think that's the only orifice that hasn't had a camera in it and I'd like to maintain that record!
The new eye surgery thread is a message from supernana.
Gally thanks for the info/shared experiences. My noises get worse, sometimes almost jet-engine sound if/when I have a cold. I used to have a similar sound in both ears now the left is noisier then the right. If I sleep on my left side I also 'hear' a pulse.
I have been woken up by what sounded like explosions in my head.... googled that and found it is quite common too ( and harmless!)
The joys of ageing!!!
Sounds horrid Gally
have to confess I am not up yet! scandalous. Woke at 3.30. Eventually gave up and read The Help for a couple of hours, dozing off just before DH had to get up at 6.
Brought my porridge back to bed. Have done a bit of work in bed and watched our Geraldine on the telly. The world has suddenly turned damp, cloudy and mild out there.
I think maybe another hour under the fleecy blankies is called for.
OGM my mother used to complain about explosions in her head and was terrified she was having a stroke. She died 25 years ago, I did not have google to help me then and my text books were no help.
I thought it was just me with fireworks in my head. Never mentioned it to anybody in case I was losing my marbles and it has now gone away. Surprising what you learn when people get chatting. Thank you.
Been up since 3.30 - my insomnia is intermittent! Think I'm going back to bed now.
Good morning! I've been awake since 4.00. Grrrr!! Going to make tea in a few minutes, watch some breakfast news, go to Sainsbury's, the butcher's and to see Bertie!
Good morning, insomniacs. I'm up for the day now. Hope you got some more sleep, ariadne. Enjoy little Bertie, kitty!
Good morning all. Given up trying to sleep, getting used to this now!!
Will do some very exciting grocery shopping this morning, then men coming to sort out why the new front door lets in the rain (!), then I shall finish the 3 baby jackets that are waiting for their buttons. Then who knows what the rest of the day will bring.
I have been up for 12 hours
but my foot is still really bothering me. I wonder if I was bitten by a spider, it has been slightly swollen for two days now and this morning my toes felt like they were burning slightly. The pain which is not terrible, just making me hobble when I walk is up around my ankle now and the top of my toes are hurting....I have no idea and I am going to try not to rest it a bit.
Faye I hope it sorts itself out today, sounds painful.
I've been up since 6.30 am - went to bed fairly early last night as I have a busy day today, cuddling babies haha!! I love this life.
Faye - that sounds miserable. As the pain is travelling, it sounds like a spider bite - go and see someone. Hope it gets better soon.
Mornin' Carol - have a cuddle or two from me. I adore babies!
