I have only ever grown one rose, it was an Albertine that I bought as a sorry looking stick and bunged in a flower bed next to the summerhouse. I never give it much care other than pruning as required and it does really well. We’re doing some garden re-organisation and I want to have a rose in a pot on the patio. Is it best to get a ‘bare root’ or a ‘pot grown’ and when is the best time to plant them?
