Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dark and less-mild south coast.

I got the house back to normal yesterday and my lovely cleaner is coming to give it a good "bottoming" this morning so we start 2019 in good order. DH will be out with his bike club most of the day and this evening my choir resumes after the break. Feels as if things are getting back in gear.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Morning mick, morning gaga, morning all.

It's still dark but it is cold in North Leicestershire. Back to volunteering this morning for me. DH is going to collect Bertie this morning as he wants to stay with us on his own.

Sounds like a busy day, mick. Where are you going on your break?

It's good to start getting back into routine, gaga, isn't it?

Good Morning to all.
It is still dark here on Severnside but the sky looks clear with moon and stars, frost on the cars I can see.
Not much on for me today. Post some letters then will endeavour to tidy up the small bedroom.
Have a good day.

Morning All

Very dark outside with hazy starlight and a waning moon. Looks chilly!

I’m keeping my trimmings up until Twelth Night as we’re having our Christmas Family Gathering this coming weekend. More pressies! I have taken down the cards though.

May do a little shopping today, my iron is getting senile. It’s given up steaming completely and can’t make up its mind whether to be hot or warm.

mumofmadboys Wed 02-Jan-19 06:47:42

I hoped I would feel better by today and be able to get out but feel quite chesty so another day on the couch for me. Started with sore throat on Saturday, vomiting, diarrhoea, aching all over, running nose and now coughing. Full works! Have a good day everyone!

DoraMarr Wed 02-Jan-19 06:54:09

Good morning from a still-dark Birmingham. I’ll collect my two year old granddaughter for the day, the last before I start radiotherapy next week. We’ll have a quiet day playing, reading, painting, and a trip to the park. I’m looking forward to an early night too!

Good morning; felt very cold here in Northampton when I got up this morning.
Co-ordinated new calendars and diaries yesterday and watched lots of catch-up tv. Opened a bottle of New Year fizz!
Will get decorations down today and place tidied up.
Hope the day goes well for all.

Auntieflo Wed 02-Jan-19 07:32:42

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Up earlier than usual this cold, dark morning, as a small GC was awake . But, I did get a special cuddle, from a not very cuddly 4 yr old boy. Now that I will treasure.
Had a house full yesterday, and it was wonderful, so when the overnighters go home, the great tidy up will begin.
DoraMarr best wishes to you for your radiotherapy.

Morning Mick, morning All. Dark, chilly start to our corner of Somerset. Weather on the radio says frost, can’t see any though. Putting Christmas away today and the inevitable dust removal. Hope Wednesday is kind to everyone.

NanKate Wed 02-Jan-19 07:37:17

Morning Mick and All.

Cloudy and cold in South Bucks.

Suspect I may have a new cold to latch onto the old cold and cough that was on it’s way out, how strange but having read the many comments on GN many of us are in a similar position.

Do let us know Mick the shows you have booked for this coming year.

Off to coffee with a neighbour and will be wearing a lovely old coat of mine that I couldn’t wedge myself into last year but I can now ?

Willow10 Wed 02-Jan-19 07:38:08

Good morning all. Dark, chilly but dry in East Northants. Meeting friends for coffee this morning and a bit of shopping. Nice to get back to normal after all these quiet days indoors, avoiding traffic! Hope it's a peaceful day for everyone.

Marydoll Wed 02-Jan-19 07:39:08

Good morning from avery frosy Glasgow, -6 degrees.
Up early for painkillers and noticed how clear the night sky is. As a result, I was looking up star maps, Venus is positively glowing this morning.

Pottering about today, my high pain levels indicate I have been overdoing it, but oh I had such a lovely time, having my family here. smile

Have a nice day out, Mick. I hope you get something booked.
Hoping this is a good day for evryone.

NanKate Wed 02-Jan-19 07:51:12

Hope the tablets have reduced the pain Mary otherwise I will send Dr Kildare round with his embrocation oils.

MawBroon Wed 02-Jan-19 07:53:03

Good morning all from a chilly and dark corner of N Bucks.
I am sorry to hear of your increased pain from overdoing it Marydoll time to take it a bit easier?
Good wishes for your radiotherapy,DoraMarr and to all getting “back to normal” out there -have a pleasant day!
PS I loved The Favourite - more than a bit quirky and off the wall, but Colman was magnificent!

Marydoll Wed 02-Jan-19 07:53:36

Please do, Kate! I know now, they definitely won't work!!! If he's not available, I'll settle for George Clooney! I'm not choosy.

ffinnochio Wed 02-Jan-19 07:58:26

Good morning to you all!
Venus and a crescent moon are shining brightly ... so a bright, clear start to the day. Nippy, too.

dragonfly46 Wed 02-Jan-19 08:08:29

Morning all.
Woke up to find a delivery note pushed through the door. Obviously came at the crack of dawn and didn’t knock hard enough!

Sorry to hear you are in pain Marydoll.
Good luck with your radiotherapy next week DoraMarr.

harrigran Wed 02-Jan-19 08:15:22

Good morning, cool but not frosty here in the NE.
A quiet day for me as all my joints are hurting, some TV catch up as we did not have TV on yesterday.
DS and family are still away visiting in-laws.

Marydoll Wed 02-Jan-19 08:16:06

dragonfly, sorry to hear you are stuggling too. I hope your DH improves.

oldgaijin Wed 02-Jan-19 08:19:54

Good morning all from a still dark Aberdeenshire. Feeling a lot better today 'tho still coughing.
Think I'll make a start on finishing some sewing projects.
Good luck DoraMarr for your treatment, hope it goes well.
Have a Happy day everyone.

Brunette10 Wed 02-Jan-19 08:23:22

Morning to all from a frosty Fife. Dry clear sky - just lovely. Had lovely time with family yesterday and both DGS were on good form. Taking all decorations, tree down etc today and generally cleaning up. Will get out for a walk later on. Take care those feeling under the weather.

Greyduster Wed 02-Jan-19 08:28:23

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Going to be dry but overcast today, and it is colder. The Christmas tree is coming down today and we will be back to whatever passes for normal in this house! Normality includes having a pile of ironing to tackle! MOMB you sound as if you are going through the mill - hope you feel better soon! Have a good day folks.

EllanVannin Wed 02-Jan-19 08:34:48

Good morning All x
A noticeably colder morning in the NW, but a bright start.
Still feeling seedy after nearly a week I know I have a catarrhal infection and once upon a time I'd have had anti-biotics to clear it up but I'll have to let it take its course while in the meantime feeling unwell.
I have to ask myself if the 'flu-jab did its work with everyone suffering ?
This is my second Christmas/New Year feeling ill where lots of stuff has gone to waste.

Apologies for moaning but I am fed up.
Hope everyone else is on the mend as it's not nice.

Mapleleaf Wed 02-Jan-19 08:43:46

Good morning everyone.
There's a reddish-grey glow in the sky at the moment, so unsure as to whether it's going to brighten up or become cloudy. It feels cooler.
A few chores to tackle in town today, but otherwise a fairly uneventful day in store.
Hope you get your holiday and day trips sorted today, mick - you'll gave to let us know how you got on.
Good luck with the radiotherapy next week Doramarr.
Take it steady today, marydoll - if you are in pain, your body is telling you to ease back a bit.
momb, hope you soon feel brighter.
I'm enjoying a nice cup of tea as I woke up with my mouth feeling it was full of sawdust. Must have been breathing through my mouth again - hope this cold soon goes. ?
Enjoy your plans for the day if you can.
