My name is Petunia and I am an addict.......of stripy tops. I did a bit of a wardrobe blitz at the weekend and was shocked to find I had 12 stripy tops.
It started innocently enough; I bought a Breton top some years ago. I liked the boat neck and the longer length .I liked the white and navy colour combination. It seemed so versatile but classic. I wore it in summer with shorts and winter with jeans. It was soft but robust and I wore it to the death. As it gasped its last breathes, I ordered what I thought were identical replacements. Two of them. But alas, they were not the same quality. These two were a bit coarser and closer fitting. So I then began the search for the perfect stripy top.
And that is how I managed to accumulate 12 navy and white stripy tops. There were more along the way but some have been relegated to the charity shop. Not all Breton style. In fact I have moved to short sleeves, ¾ sleeves, and long sleeves. The stripy top has become my go to top.
I did flirt with navy or black tops with white spots at one time but it wasn’t the same feeling. It wasn’t right.
So here I am now, a big trip planned very soon and the majority of tops I have are stripy and white with navy.
I need to break this addiction. I need another go to top. Any suggestions
