going through my bedroom cupboards today I found a multi pack of M+S knickers, unopened. gleaming white and pristine. when I took them out of the packet and put them in my knicker drawer, I realised how grey and grotty my old knickers were. so I binned them. then I got to thinking how wonderful new underwear is. and how it's a pleasure to wear brand new underwear, putting a spring in my step and not caring if I get knocked down by a bus, cos not only is my underwear clean, it is also non saggy and beautifully white.
I just love new knickers. is it just me?

I only wear black pants day to day, so they always look ok. The few others I have are flesh colour for wearing under light coloured trousers, which also don't get discoloured. M&S are comfortable on me and last for many many years without the elastic changing. I can therefore hardly remember what it feels like to have new knickers! Enjoy your pristine ones!

I also wear black pants. Pack of 5 from Marks. Cotton ones.

I like matching bra and pants and I buy new regularly,I have every colour under the rainbow in one drawer and plian black and white in another ...the plain are rarely worn.My grandaughter asks why do I need to match when no one see them but me ...I just always have and I feel better if I'm dressed right from the skin out

I also prefer dark colours as white never looks good after a couple of washes but I wear pants I don't wear knickers I like the hi leg ones or tight boxer but never a thong gal blooming cheese cutters

Is there a difference between pants and knickers ? smile

Welshwife Tue 30-May-17 17:21:02

Hi like hi-leg ones but they are often difficult to find. I wear more flesh coloured ones with no VPL so it matters not what my trousers are like.

Good question Coolgran

If you wash all whites together they don't go grey.I mainly wear black or nude coloured ones though these days, and am another who likes to be matching, it never seems right otherwise, and I must have some lace on them.
Having read the OP I now feel I must have a rummage in the wardrobes and cupboards to see if I can find anything new.?

I can understand your love of new knickers joolz though my favourite new items are socks. They always seem so springy and soft, really put a spring in my step. Really must get out more.

I love new Knickers, my knicker drawers are overflowing. Does any other Gran keep a brand new pair in case the need to see the doctor ?

TriciaF Tue 30-May-17 19:40:28

joolz - I understand how you felt. I always prefer plain white cotton knickers, not too skimpy, not too baggy. My favourites are from John Lewis:

I don't care that they're not glamorous.
I ordered 2 packs a couple of years ago and they got lost in the post. Eventually I got my money back.
Then ordered 4 packs, so now have a little stash, until the next time.

I don't throw old knickers away. I save them up and take them away on holiday where I wear them and chuck them. It's especially useful if you are touring and you don't want to have a suitcase of dirty underwear.

grannylyn65 Tue 30-May-17 21:08:17

Pants keks all black !

DanniRae Tue 30-May-17 21:44:43

I mainly wear black too and like a bit of lace on them. I have nude to wear under light coloured trousers but don't really like them on me.
I am not bothered if pants don't match my bra unless I am dressing to go somewhere special.
And I don't have a new pair to wear to the doctors - just make sure they are clean.

Humbertbear, I don't throw old knickers away. I save them up and take them away on holiday where I wear them and chuck them.

I do the same with our clothing and underwear.

I just dislike the word knickers it sounds so old fashioned and makes me think of big long bloomers with elasticated legs haha ......pants seems more up to date and normal they don't use the word knickers on the packs do they?

Treebee Tue 30-May-17 22:42:08

I had a friend who bought new knickers and kept them in the bag ready for a day when she felt down.
Wearing her brand new pair gave her that lift she needed to cheer up.
( I bought 3 pairs today from M&S, perhaps I should put one pair away for a rainy day.)

I've lived in disposable knickers for 5 weeks, very sexy, looked like I'd caught a fish! X

Norah Wed 31-May-17 07:13:47

Ohhhh, a pair in a bag! Ready for anything.

Alima Wed 31-May-17 10:22:34

Knickers, drawers, pants, all fine with me. The word I hate is panties, always sounds really pervy to me.

Alima Wed 31-May-17 10:37:07

How could I have forgotten undercrackers? Right, that's me, off to jet clean the patio.

moobox Wed 31-May-17 10:53:28

Since I discovered black nothing went grey again

Kim0612 Wed 31-May-17 11:02:07

You can't beat good old M&S for pants/knickers.

ggmarion Wed 31-May-17 11:03:07

Like so many I only wear black or nude. Debenhams no VPL are brilliant. Not sexy but heyho, more people see the outside than what's underneath. Come to think of it these days it's only me and the dog see what's underneath!!!
