I thought they picked people really close to it taking part.

Phone the police non emergency number (101 I think) and check it out. Could be above board but perhaps not.

Double check please, did you give them your address ? if they are not police officers they may be waiting for you to leave the house so they can break in. Please please phone first

Thanks for the concern, though I seen the identification earlier on. I am guessing it is just process of elimination.

A lot of police stations use VIPER ( virtual identity parades) but some still do things the old fashioned way,you will be paid, did they not tell you that?
I said be careful, because they should not have said that you looked like a suspect who had committed a serious crime/incident, they should have just asked if you would be willing to take part. Yes, do check with whichever police station you were asked to go to before you go.We all want to help the police,but we also need to be careful.

Yes I can totally understand the concern though I am going to my local police station and is definetly all above board, I was only asking a general question as I find it all a bit daunting I mean

In their late teens both of my sons were on the police ID parade list. They were paid every time they were called and that was quite often. Sometimes they would have their appearance changed slightly, spray on designer stubble, spectacles, hats etc.

Why so late? It seems very odd to me.

I know you have said it is at your local police station but have you actually telephoned them to confirm the details. It does seem a very unusual time to ask you to come in. I am concerned that they could be tricking you into leaving your home. If you haven't telephoned to confirm please do so or we will all worry

Id parades are sometimes held late in the evenings, if you have already checked and are happy with timing you will be doing a public service.

Yes my daughter is driving me up there while my husband and his brother will be my house. No need to worry at all in that sense.

Yes might sound a strange time though all is fine, definetly not the way I would have liked to have been spending a Saturday night of course.

When I posted originally I was more worried about being picked out wrongly and having to spend the night in a police station as you never know what can happen though some people will think I am silly lol
