I don't know how to condense this as its been going on for years, but I'll try. I have been asked to my nephews wedding but he hasn't asked my eldest daughter and none of my grandchildren are invited although other children are. This isn't a new thing it's went on since two of my brothers married two sisters. Since then they have always tried to exclude me, saying there's not enough room for me but they will get me up for a catchup soon, of course this never happens. I decided I would go to see my nephew married but I wouldn't attend the meal or reception. I went up to tell him but when I was finished his partner whipped out a night invite for my daughter which she had forgotten to post. It was decided I would go but with hindsight I feel so so bad and wish I'd stuck to my plan. Do you think it would be acceptable to tell them somethings came up and I will only be attending the service
"Old fashioned" expressions that young people have never heard.
Reducing contact because my heart just isn't in it.
