I was wondering what exclamations everyone uses other than actual swearing (OK that will start a debate about what is swearing and what isn't.
In this house
Gordon Bennett gets a fair airing as does Stone the Crows (much favoured by my Grandpa).
What's yours?

Depends who's listening! blush I think even shouting Arrrggghhh Sherbert Dibdabs can be swearing if it's used in context!

"Bogga day!" Invented by Minibags when she was a toddler. No, she hadn't heard me saying bugger. It might have come from Bother or Botheration.

OH shouts PILLOCK! at motorway drivers who hog the middle lane.
Another family favourite is BLOOD AND SAND.
At others times the usual sweary words apply.

"Oh my giddy aunt" and "Gordon Bennett". The grandchildren also use these. Must get them funny looks at school.

ceesnan we were queuing up to go into a small theatre production some years ago and the man in from gave his name as Mr Kinell. Couldn't stop tittering about it all night.grin

My father used to say, 'RISSOLES!'
No prizes for guessing what that was a substitute for.

He did use swear words as well but could be quite 'poetic' about it. I remember him banging crossly about the house when he couldn't find something - 'Cr*p and corruption! Sh*t and seduction!' etc.

Nothing so inventive in this house!

At his grandfather's funeral my cousin's son gave a lovely tribute which included the fact that as a child he thought his grandfather's 'Blithering Idiot' often said to him was a term of affection.
In a sense I think it was!
