I agree it seems to be a good year for wild flowers, poppies especially; and masses of pink and white campion and ox eye daisies. Bees having a field day!

Yes I noticed all the daisies today driving from Rotherham towards Sheffield. Yorkshire is extra beautiful at the moment.

Buttercups particularly locally in Somerset. Sunshine in the rain

I know it's wonderful isn't it. Everything looks green and magnificent. All we need is a few weeks of sunshine and the U.K will bloom, it's going to be a beautiful summer.

I've never seen so much orange hawkweed. My fb friend calls it a weed, but I think it's a lovely wild flower. Here is my photo of it on the lawn outside a local coach tour company office.

Bit of an understatement, that.

Our garden is awash in hundreds of big white daisy type flowers. They have seeded themselves among the roses and it looks like a bridal display - they are lovely. And on our raised bed we have suddenly acquired a red poppy the size of a chamber pot - we were debating how to extract the morphine!

We've got of ox-eye daisies around here too. They are all along the roadsides. There is down parsley talker then me!

Our verges have been wonderful this year, full of wild flowers, mainly buttercups and huge daisies, but lots of grasses as well. For once, the council hasn't been going round with the grass cutters, but have left nature to itself. What a treat! Unfortunately they have now started to cut. I can't help thinking of all the wildlife that will have been delighting in the broad green verges left to go wild

The sea defence opposite our house has decorative block work. In the gaps of the pattern there's a multitude of colour growing in the form of snap dragons all over the 200yd stretch of the wall. I've no idea how they seeded there. They don't usually grow wild do they ?

Yes the countryside is looking it's best at the moment isn't it. The trees are full of leaf now, and it is amazing how many different colour greens there are. The sun shining makes such a difference to all the colours doesn't it.

The hay meadows in Upper Swaledale were looking magnificent yesterday. They won't be cut until mid-July to allow the flowers to set seed.

They've stopped cutting the verges here in Northern Ireland to save money. So far, it looks awful. Just a lot of green weeds. I keep looking though, and a few wilds flowers are appearing.

The verges in Suffolk are wonderful this year; there are poppies galore and wild flowers everywhere. Even the A12 looks lovely in places with masses of flowers along the central reservation,so a big thank you to whoever decided not to spread the 'weed' killer.

Beautiful here too on the Rutland/Lincolnshire borders.
However there was a letter in our local paper complaining that the verges had not been CUT. Miseries or what?

East Kent has lovely road edges of ox-eye daisy and pink campion. the cow parsley was more in the graveyards etc., but is well over now.
Sadly the County council hates them and mows everything on the horizontal verges. we are still left with the more vertical edges...
