I have purchased a big bag of wooden pegs, all the same! How I shall enjoy next summer.

I certainly don't, I know at 67 I am never going to be an organised person!! And, I have never ever spring cleaned

Aren't the zips always at the bottom?

Oh thank goodness! I have to have matching colour pegs and cushions placed with zips on the bottom and the tea-towel straight and .......can't bear to go on.

I don't even think about peg colours. Just grateful if I have enough and they don't snap as I put them into something heavy. I do have to get out of bed and go downstairs if I think I've forgotten to check that the row of hob buttons are all facing the same way. But there's a practical reason for that though - if one was out of alignment the gas would be on. I also have to make sure I've turned the washing machine off after reading about the fire potential. And I have often fretted on the way to a holiday in case I didn't check the hob, had left a light on, or a window open. I've actually rung my daughter to go and check for me. I've also had to stop the car just to check the boot. Again.
I don't spring clean as such either grannylyn65, so that's at least two of us.

Petra, maybe she means the cushions you lean on, I,e. at the back of you, where the zips need to be at the bottom.

Good heavens - you would not last a moment in our tip!! The tea towel usually lands on the floor! As for cushion zips and matching pegs.....the mind boggles! I have never given either even a passing thought.

Nor me lucky that is so weird!

I'm just glad I have enough pegs when I hang washing, try to keep the teatowels hung tidily, make sure all is turned off at night, but I don't count my chips or peas as a friend does.
I will add that OCD is a serious issue and life limiting condition so I would never treat it as a simple 'quirk' of someone's character.

I can't think of anything that has to be "just so" in my house.

I just use the tumble drier-seemples....no pegs! My father, on the other hand, used to measure the size of the holes in the pegs so that they fitted the clothes line.

OCD has many degrees of severity , if one is compelled to do something one has OCD Only if it makes life difficult do people become aware that they have it , so yes Ana, really

I have to check the back door several times and look in the kitchen to make sure everything is switched off but apart from that I am pretty much laid back .

That's not OCD Ethel. Checking is fairly common and I think it comes from our anxiety that nothing should go wrong. There are obviously more extreme versions of checking with ritualistic behaviour but I think careful checking of locked doors is sensible these days

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - surely if it's not making life difficult it's not a disorder?

I'm anal but that's not OCD. I have to have straight lines (like a pile of papers) parallel, everything in order and symmetrical. I'm never late, write lots of lists and have to have my life organised well in advance.
I don't keep checking things nor stick to rigid timetables but I hate surprises. Do not drop in unexpectedly, I'll be really upset if I haven't Hoovered or made a cake.

When I eat a packet of crisps, I empty it onto a plate. I then separate whole and broken ones, eating the pieces in size order starting with the smallest.

Radio volume and air temperature in the car must always be on an even number.

Of course cushion zips must always be at the bottom, and they are plumped the moment someone vacates the sofa. Everything will be covered in dust but must be placed 'just so'.

Oh! and I count the bathroom tiles every time I have a bath.
