We often arrive at our holiday let to stay on the day guests are leaving, we do the change over rather than pay £150 to the housekeeping company!
We have only once been shocked, it took us 5 hours to clean a two bed two bath property!
Only when we sat down to have a drink in the evening did we realise all the missing items!
Housekeeping know to take photographs and to call us if guests have left it in a bad state, this has only happened once in 5 years, we had to pay for extra cleaning.
On the whole guests are really respectful, we would never expect anyone to clean, vacuum or mop but I suspect some people do.
We arrived at one holiday let that was grimy, photographed is the note left by the owners.
It needed a deep, deep clean.
I know everyone thinks holiday lets are a license to print money but they are not!
Apart from the initial outlay take in to consideration utilities, TV licence, Sky, broadband, public liability insurance, general insurance, maintenance, cleaning, we also provide good coffee pods, dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs, a welcome voucher and pay a commission to the holiday company.
What is important for us is that guests arrive and everything immaculate,
