In Victoria Road Darlington in the 70's there was Mr Pett (the vet), Mr Dent (the dentist) and Mr Pigg (the pork butcher). All true names as far as I am aware.
I also knew a signing teacher (of the deaf) called Mrs Speake.

There was an excellent physiotherapist in Leicester (who was blind) and was called John Thomas- always a cause for some hilarity with our sporty friends.

I worked with a doctor who was massively into keeping bees. He used to talk to everyone about it. His name was Dr Flowerdew.

My science teachers at school were called Mr Bottle and Miss Air.

There are/were 2 dentists in Oakham called Dentith and Dentith and I think their daughter also became a dentist.

Posted earlier about the Dentith and Dentith team kitty- but it vanished somehow.

Our vet here is called M. Lalla- which we all find funny as our DD2's dachsie, Slinky, loves him to bits. DD2 has always been called Autie Lalla, by our GCs.

OH has a very large primary school teacher called Mrs Vast.

In Stoke, DD1was born under Mr Clubb- always a joke in Staffs circles with the pregnant ladies, to be under Mr Clubb.

A while ago our local Thompson Directory listed a Dr Pain and a Dr Coffin. I know someone whose maiden name was Hunter and her married name is Fox. She should have gone double-barrelled.
