That's all I know- very sad!

Oh ??

I started a thread on this too but just asked for it to be deleted.

I had no idea he was suffering from cancer? Nor did I know about Bowie being ill until he died. Not that they need to tell everyone I know but still amazing that in this day of such invasion of privacy there were able to keep their illnesses between them and their families. Very sad.

petit I was writing on your thread and going to delete this.

Its very sad such a wonderful actor- he was I understand a very private man and didn't enjoy premiers and interviews etc. I first saw him in Barchester Chronicles and he was mesmerising then. I was lucky enough to see him on stage in Separate Tables - wonderful experience. RIP Alan xxx

DS told me about 1/2 hr ago. I did comment that I thought he'd been ill. I don't know where or when I heard that.
Great actor RIP

Oh, not another one. It does seem that deaths come in batches.

Willow500 Thu 14-Jan-16 13:06:28

Ah no - that's so sad - I thought he was such a great actor. Well I guess that's the 3rd one - Lemmy, David Bowie and now this sad

Just been reading about this on mumsnet; they all loved him too.smile

I'm shocked and very sad. Such a great actor.

It's so hard seeing the stars of our generation fading away sad

Anniebach Thu 14-Jan-16 13:47:52

I often go on utube to hear him reading Shakespeare sonnets

Maggiemaybe Thu 14-Jan-16 13:58:41

Oh no, that is so sad. A wonderful actor and so darned attractive. sad

Alea Thu 14-Jan-16 14:03:45

sad
DD2 sat beside him a few years ago at some theatre dinner and I was madly jealous. She said he was charming, witty and thoroughly nice. She had the sense not to depress him by saying her mum fancied him rotten!

NanKate Thu 14-Jan-16 14:12:05

Another one bites the dust. Far too young to die at 69 (my age).

Yes an excellent actor and I can easily see why has so many admirers on GN.

HannahLoisLuke Thu 14-Jan-16 14:14:41

One of my favourite actors too those looks and that voice! My secret crush.
A terribly sad week. RIP and thank you Alan Rickman.
